By Drew Locascio
Illinois Scouting Director

Brother Rice junior infielder Marquis Jackson has been named this week’s PBR Illinois Player of the Week thanks to his outstanding performance last week for the Crusaders.

Jackson, an Oklahoma commit, currently ranked No. 21 in the Illinois’ 2020 class, had a huge week at last weeks PBR Metro East Kickoff Classic. Jackson, who started at third base for No. 2 Brother Rice, went 6-for-11 (.545 BA) with two home runs, a double seven RBI and five runs scored in three games. Jackson also stole three bases and played a steady third base.

Jackson helped lead No. 2 Brother Rice to a 3-0 record on the week which included wins over No. 7 Edwardsville, Normal West and O’Fallon.

Below is a video of him hitting a sharp groundball through the left side of the infield on the final day of the Kickoff Classic.
