The Five: Preseason All-State RHP's

"The Five" highlights high-performing athletes from across the state of Illinois. Today “The Five” highlights five of the top uncommitted right-handed pitchers from this winter's Illinois Preseason All-State. All five are 2021s who currently remain uncommitted.

Every arm mentioned below is set to make an impact in the soon to be released 2021 Illinois Rankings update.

Body: 6-foot-3, 190-pounds. Athletic frame and build.
Delivery: Delivery works with effort, tall balance point, hangs toe under knee, lands square on ball of foot with closed toe.
Arm Action: RH. Short arm action, stays connected, over the top slot, works out of tight window.
FB: T90, 87-89 mph. Mostly straight, occasional run and sink, lively finish with control.
SL: 71-74 mph. 10/4 shape, frisbee type action, near fastball arm speed, ability to play for strikes.
CH: 70-73 mph. Near fastball arm action, fades to arm side, showed control.

Delivery: Tall and fall delivery, side rocker into balance point, stays balanced and works directional, solid front side, works with some effort.
Arm Action: RH. High 3/4 slot, loose quick arm, arm strength present.
FB: T91, 89-91 mph. Mostly straight, four seam type action, showed control of the zone.
SL: 77-77 mph. 10/4 sweeping action, repeats well with above average consistency, excellent control.
CH: 81-82 mph. Fastball arm speed, sinking action.

Arm Action: RH. Long loose arm action, works quick with arm speed, over the top slot, looks to have more in the tank.
FB: T86, 84-86 mph. Mostly straight, four seam type, showed control of the zone.
CB: 69-75 mph. 12/6 shape, flashed above average depth, sharp at times.
SL: 76-77 mph. Works on 10/4 plane, sharp action.
CH: 76-77 mph. Thrown with arm speed, creates arm side action with feel down in the zone.

Delivery: Easy delivery, slight high front side as he works down the hill, lands square and heavy, heel first, works on line and smooth tempo throughout.
Arm Action: RH. High 3/4 slot, quick arm action, shorter swing, stays connected.
FB: T87, 86-86 mph. Hard late running action, excellent finish and late life, average feel.
CB: 75-76 mph. Sharp biting curveball, thrown aggressively, 11/5 shape.
CH: 74-78 mph. Sink and fade action, showed above average feel, fastball arm speed.
