Unsigned Senior Showcase: Blast Motion Board

Kevin Cronin
Tech Analyst, Area Scout

On Sunday, October 3, the PBR Illinois staff traveled back to The MAX Sports Complex in McCook, Illinois, to host the annual Unsigned Senior Showcase. This event was open to all uncommitted prospects in the state’s 2022 class that are still looking for a place to call home at the collegiate level.

For a look at the complete roster of players set to make the trip to the MAX this Sunday, click HERE.

Now, at the event’s conclusion, our staff will begin to unravel our thoughts from the day. We started by rolling out a Statistical Analysis earlier today, highlighting which players led our respective statistical categories, such as the 60-yard dash, max throwing velocities, and other such numbers from the event.

We continued to unravel the data captured from the day through the advanced technology we have at our disposal, starting with what we have on hand from our TrackMan Units inside a previous article.

Now, we'll conclude all the statistical coverage from the day by breaking down the swing metrics from each individual player's BP round, thanks to the info gathered through our Blast Motion sensors.

Body Rotation: A swing that has the appropriate relative contributions of body and bat rotations is an efficient and Powerful swing that maintains proper sequencing. An efficient baseball swing is one in which the body creates the initial movements, which is then transferred to the arms and out to the bat, thereby maximizing Bat Speed through this proximal-to-distal kinematic sequencing movement pattern.
