Over the next several weeks,  we’ll be publishing our team spotlights during the 2021 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications. Perennially, we’ve submitted a Preseason Questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team analysis.

TOP PLAYERS

Zachary Brink 1B / OF / Olathe Northwest, KS / 2021

The Hutchinson CC commit will be tasked with providing offense out of the middle of the order with his smooth left handed swing.  He'll also be using his good overall arm strength to help log some innings this Spring on the mound for the Ravens.

Camden McKernan 3B / RHP / Olathe Northwest, KS / 2022

The Junior utility man will show off his versatility this Spring by being a true utility man that could see multiple positions on the field.  A good overall swing and good arm, Camden will also work some innings on the mound for the Ravens.

Carson Reeves OF / 2B / Olathe Northwest, KS / 2022

The Junior will be the projected opening day left fielder for the Ravens in 2021.  A guy that is described by the coaching staff to be a good runner and a high-average type hitter at the plate, Carson will be tasked with putting pressure on the defense and getting the Raven offense started at the top of the order.

ETHAN KEMP

OF / P / OLATHE NORTHWEST, KS / 2021

The Senior and projected starting CF will try and build off the experience he gained two years ago with some playing time at the Varsity level as a Sophomore.  The three sport athlete has shown some raw tools and has potential to be a high level player for the Ravens this Spring.

BRADY ROBINSON

SS / P / OLATHE NORTHWEST, KS / 2021

The Senior SS and RHP will be a major piece for the Ravens this Spring.  He earned some playing time as a Sophomore on Varsity and will look to be a guy they count on at the plate and on the mound as well.  Another Raven that is a three sport athlete that has good overall athleticism and raw tools.

BRYCE JOHNSON

C / OLATHE NORTHWEST, KS / 2021

The Senior catcher will get his turn behind the plate after spending the 2019 season as the Ravens DH.  His efforts at the plate earned him Second Team All League honors and he will be counted on to bring more production on both sides of the ball in 2021.

SAM ARRICK

2B / OLATHE NORTHWEST, KS / 2021

The senior second baseman is a quality defender in the middle of the diamond and a guy the coaching staff considers to be a good runner.  Sam will be tasked with putting pressure on opposing defenses all Spring.

MATT FOSTER

RHP / OF / OLATHE NORTHWEST, KS / 2021

The Senior right hander will use his solid three pitch mix and good command to provide the Ravens with some pitching depth this Spring.

ETHAN SADLER

3B / OLATHE NORTHWEST, KS / 2022

The Junior 3B is a guy the coaching staff is relying on to be a physical presence in the line up with his potential power bat.

OUTLOOK

The biggest strengths for the Ravens this Spring are their ability to compete 1-9 in the lineup and overall pitching depth.  The have good team speed and most importantly the coaching staff believes that they have great Senior leadership and team chemistry.

Like many other teams across the state, the cancellation of the 2020 season has left them without too many players with Varsity experience.  Getting these players up to speed quickly will be a big factor in the win/loss column in 2021.
