MOKAN Fall Trials: Outfielders Analysis

Prep Baseball Report Missouri/Kansas held the MOKAN Fall Trials on Saturday, September 28 at the Urban Youth Academy in Kansas City, Missouri. Over forty players from region participated.

Player profiles have been updated with running times and velocities along with a video of their performance.

Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on ScoutPlus.

Here is a closer look at the Outfielders from the event, listed in alphabetical order.

Outfielders

Seldon Deemer OF / 3B / Shawnee Mission North, KS / 2022

Deemer is a 5-foot-10, 160-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder and corner infielder in Kansas’ 2022 class. He ran a 7.69 second 60 and 4.96 home-to-first. At the plate, Deemer posted an exit velocity of 79 mph, athletic stance, slightly opened, minimal load with hands, in line stride, some rhythm with hands, leverages front side, showed a middle of the field approach during batting practice. Defensively in the outfield, attacks the baseball, works behind the ball, three-quarter release, positional velo of 68 mph, mostly accurate with throws.

Parker Disidore OF / RHP / St. Thomas Aquinas, KS / 2020

Disidore is a 5-foot-8, 155-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder and right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class. At the event, Disidore ran a 7.09 second 60 and 4.70 home-to-first. At the plate, posted an exit velocity of 86 mph, athletic stance, minimal load, smooth hands, controls the barrel, smooth swing at the plate, minimal head movement, repeatable swing, hard contact to the middle of the field during round. In the outfield, shows some athleticism, smooth actions, clean arm action, positional velo of 76 mph, accurate throws.

Joshua Holmes OF / 3B / Shawnee Mission West, KS / 2021

Holmes is as 5-foot-11, 155-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder and middle infielder in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 7.01 second 60 and 4.19 home-to-first. At the plate, posted an exit velocity of 91 mph, starts with an open stance, leg lift into load, short and in line stride, smooth load with hands, short and compact swing, during batting practice Holmes showed contact to the middle of the field and his pull side. In the outfield, aggressive to the baseball, fluid footwork, clean transfers, arm plays, high three-quarter release, positional velo of 83 mph, mostly accurate throws.

Jackson Jeffries OF / OF / Lees Summit , MO / 2021

Jeffries is a 6-foot-1, 165-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 7.09 second 60 and a 4.62 home-to-first. At the plate, Jeffries posted an exit velocity of 87 mph, starts in an athletic stance, simple load with minimal negative movement with hands, in line stride, quick hands, flat bat path, repeats swing with minimal head movement, produced hard contact to pull side with some pop during batting practice. In the outfield, Jeffries attacks the baseball, clean transfers, works behind the baseball, momentum towards target, positional velo of 70 mph fairly accurate throws.

Jackson Kline OF / OF / Park Hill, MO / 2022

Kline is a 6-foot-1 175-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri's 2022 class. He ran a 6.95 60 and a 4.45 home to first. He had an 86 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts slightly open, slight rotation to load with smooth hand load, stride separates from hands, accelerates hand, quick bat speed with loose hands, range in swing with feel for barrel, gap to gap line drives during hitting evals, consistent hard contact. In the out field, high three quarters arm slot, smooth transfer on time with momentum in footwork, fluid actions stays under control, athletic, mostly accurate throws, 77 mph positional velocity.

Joseph Lopez C / OF / Bishop Miege, KS / 2021

Lopez has is a slender 6-foot, 170-pound, left-handed hitting catcher and outfielder in Kansas’ 2021 class. At the event, Lopez ran a 7.27 second 60 and 4.70 home-to-first. At the plate, he posted an exit velocity of 79 mph, simple weight shift load, in line stride, quiet hands, repeatable swing, showed gap-to-gap and pull side contact during round. In the outfield, attacks the baseball, clean transfers, fluid footwork, positional velo of 77 mph with mostly accurate throws

Jackson Magargee C / OF / Kingsville , MO / 2022

Magargee is a long and lean 6-foot, 165-pound, left-handed hitting catcher and outfielder in Missouri’s 2022 class. At the event, Magargee ran a 7.46 second 60 and 4.55 home-to-first. At the plate, posted an exit velocity of 86 mph, starts in a narrow stance with an upright posture, slightly closed off stride, loose hands, controls the barrel, showed and inside out approach at the plate during batting practice and produced hard contact. In the outfield, Magargee shows good actions, fluid movements, strong arm with carry, positional velo of 77 mph, accurate throws.

Chandler Miller OF / RHP / Basehor-Linwood, KS / 2021

Miller is a lean and long limbed 6-foot-2, 165-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder and right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 7.08 second 60 and 4.66 home-to-first. At the plate, posted and exit velocity of 91 mph, starts narrow and in an upright posture, weight shift into his load, long and inline stride, aggressive with back hip, loose hands, big swing that produced hard contact to the middle of the field during batting practice. In the outfield, smooth actions, long and fluid arm action, clean transfers, positional velo of 84 mph, mostly accurate throws.

Zach Moore 1B / OF / Cape Girardeau Central, MO / 2020

Moore is a 6-foot-1, 170-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder and corner infielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 7.14 second 60 and 4.83 home-to-first. At the plate, posted an exit velocity of 83 mph, starts in an open stance, leg lift, in line stride, quiet hands, produced hard pull side contact during batting practice with some pop. In the outfield, aggressive to the baseball, clean transfers, long arm action, positional velo of 72 mph, accurate throws. On the infield, Moore shows good lateral movements for his size, momentum towards target, clean arm action, accurate throws across the diamond, positional velo of 70 mph.

Carlton Perkins RHP / OF / Lee's Summit North, MO / 2021

Perkins is a 6-foot-2, 170-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. Perkins ran a 7.16 second 60 and 4.69 home-to-first. At the plate, posted an exit velocity of 78 mph, lean frame, long limbs, loose wrists, balanced and repeatable swing, produced middle contact during batting practice. In the outfield, smooth and athletic actions, aggressive to the baseball, arm works, high three-quarter release, shows off a strong arm with a top end velocity of 86 mph, ball has carry to target, mostly accurate throws.

Brett Rush 3B / RHP / Lee's Summit West, MO / 2022

Rush is a 5-foot-9, 160-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder, corner infielder and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2022 class. At the event, Rush ran a 7.68 second 60 and a 4.95 home-to-first. At the plate, posted an exit velocity of 79 mph, starts in a narrow and slightly open stance, simple load, in line stride, quick hands, level bat path, showed and middle to opposite field approach during batting practice. In the outfield, attacks the baseball, clean transfers, three-quarter release, positional velo tops at 77 mph with accurate throws.

River Thompson OF / LHP / Raytown, MO / 2020

Thompson is a 5-foot-10, 170-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder and left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. At the event, Thompson ran a 7.19 second 60 and 4.58 home-to-first. At the plate, posted an exit velocity of 81 mph, simple and repeatable swing, minimal negative movement into load, in line stride, quick hands, slight uphill bat path. In the outfield, smooth defensive actions, clean transfers, high three-quarter release, positional velo of 76 mph, fairly accurate throws.

Jackson White SS / RHP / Lees Summit West, MO / 2022

White is a 6-foot, 156-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder and middle infielder in Missouri’s 2022 class. White ran a 7.28 second 60 and posted an exit velocity of 86 mph. At the plate, bigger frame, wide shoulders, reverse toe tap, minimal load, quiet hands, remains balanced throughout swing, produced middle contact during batting practice. In the outfield, attacks the baseball, clean transfers, long arm action, positional velo of 78 mph with accurate throws.
