KS Player of the Week: Colton Sims

Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Prep Baseball KS Player of the Week. We will rely on submissions from high school coaches and others by way of email ([email protected]) or DM on X (twitter). Nominations should include player name, grad year, position, and stat line. KS HS Player of the Week will be released every Tuesday after noon.

Let's take a look at the Player of the Week for Week 1 (Opening Day-March 23):

Colton Sims 3B / OF / Shawnee Mission East, KS / 2025

Rankings  StateRank: 3 / POS: 1 OverallRank: 207 / POS: 12

Sims started as hot in the first five games of the spring as any player nominated. The Vanderbilt commit collected eight hits in fifteen at bats, including three doubles, two homeruns, and nine RBIs for a slash line of .533 (avg) /.579 (obp)/1.133(slug). Sims also played imprssive defensive at third base making every play, including a couple "web-gem" plays.
