Kentucky Class of 2024 Rankings Updated/Expanded

Chris Fuller
Kentucky Director of Scouting

After a number of summer and fall events afforded our staff the opportunity to see a large number of new players in the 2024 class, as well as a number of players who have made significant developments and improvements in their game, we release our updated and expanded rankings in the sophomore class.

As always, when ranking young players, these rankings continue to evolve over the next few years as player development continues. For now, we have ranked out top 130 players from the class.

SS/RHP Jake Schweitzer sits at the top of the class. Schweitzer committed to Louisville following the PBR Future Games and features big two-way ability. He has big power in the bat to go along with advanced defensive actions at SS with plenty of arm to stay there. On the mound he features a fastball that currently sits in the high-80’s and a high-spin slider that produces a lot of swing and miss.

LHP Leighton Harris occupies the No. 2 spot. The 6-foot-3, 195 pound lefty pitched well at the PBR Future Games as a member of Team Kentucky. Harris is a high-spin guy with a fastball that has worked into the mid to high-80’s and a big-breaking curveball to go along with it. Harris shows an advanced ability to pitch and committed to Kentucky following the Future Games.

RHP Jake Gregor, a 6-foot-4, 210 pound Louisville commit, checks in at No. 3. Another Team Kentucky PBR Future Games member, Gregor has ticked 90 mph with his fastball with a solid secondary repertoire that includes an advanced changeup and developing slider. Gregor started 9 games as s freshman for St. Xavier, posting a 1.96 ERA in 46.1 innings pitched.

RHP Ross Aldridge, checks in at No. 4. The 6-foot-4, 200 pound righty was a key cog on the mound in McCracken County’s run as State Runner-Up this past spring, posting an 8-1 record with a 1.53 ERA. Aldridge, a Louisville commit, features a fastball in the high 80’s to go along with a sharp slider and and advanced changeup.

RHP/SS Brady Davis occupies the No. 5 spot. The Louisville commit features big two-way ability with a fastball that reaches the high 80’s and big power in the bat. His athleticism stands out on the field with the ability to play multiple defensive positions.
