MOKAN Fall Trials: Left-Handed Pitchers

Prep Baseball Report Missouri/Kansas held the MOKAN Fall Trials on October 28 at the Urban Youth Academy in Kansas City, Missouri. Over 40 players in Missouri and Kansas in the 2022 to 2019 classes attended.
Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on the ScoutPlus dashboard.
Player profiles have been updated with profile picture, running times, velocities, and videos. Today will take a closer look at the left-handed pitchers from the event. Players are listed in alphabetical order below.
Left-Handed Pitchers
Kade Biellier LHP / OF / Willard, MO / 2022Biellier is a 5-foot-9 left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2022 class. Biellier works from a high three quarters arm slot, hands remain high during leg lift, in line stride good direction with momentum, fastball at 73-76 mph, occasional arm side run, breaking ball has 1-to-7 shape, sharp at times, 60-63 mph, change up works to the arm side, 61-64 mph, throws with near fastball arm speed. |
Holden Brooks LHP / Truman, MO / 2020Brooks is a 5-foot-9 150-pound left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Brooks has a controlled delivery, stay in line during stride, maintains balance, high three quarters arm slot, square finish, fastball at 66-69 mph, throws breaking ball for strike, 52-53 mph, gradual 1-to-7 action, slow arm speed slightly to throw change, sat consistently at 58 mph, throws down in the zone. |
Kyron Fergus OF / LHP / Piper, KS / 2021Fergus is a 5-foot-8 160-pound left-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2021 class. Fergus has a compact delivery with no wasted movement, controls body during leg lift, works in line down the mound, slight rotation to delivery, fastball flashed arm side run, down in the zone, 71-73 mph, slight 1-to-7 action on breaking ball, 63-64 mph, throws change up with near fastball arm speed, 66-73 mph, some with late sinking action. |
Joshua Kilpatrick 1B / LHP / Grain Valley, MO / 2020Kilpatrick is a long and lean 6-foot-5 180-pound left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Kilpatrick has a quick tempo in his delivery, slight tuck and rotation at balance point, hides the ball well, arm has short arm circle, works out front and down the mound, throws three pitches for strikes, fastball at 77-80 mph, breaking ball has slight and late 1-to-7 action, works at the bottom of the zone, 64-68 mph, controls change up with near fastball arm speed, 63-64 mph, occasional arm side sink. |
Spencer Maley LHP / Eisenhower , KS / 2020Maley is a long limbed 6-foot-5 185-pound left-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class. Maley works from a three-quarters slot, slight lean at balance point, hides ball well adding to deception, works in line down the mound, balanced finished with body staying under control, fastball at 78-80 mph, shows late running action, breaking ball has late and sharp action, 71-74 mph, throws for strike down in the zone, slows arm slightly for change up, 74-75 mph, has late sink, will throw for a strike, projection in build and arm action. |
Maxwell Orton 1B / LHP / Shawnee Heights, KS / 2021Orton is a 5-foot-8 150-pound left-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2021 class. Orton has a quick tempo during his delivery, repeats well, slight rotation at balance point, over the top arm slot, loose arm action, fastball at 71-73 mph, throws for strike, breaking ball looks to be a good pitch with continued development, has command at 60-63 mph, gradual and late 1-to-7 action, throws change up for a strike, late arm side sink, 69-70 mph, throws with fastball arm speed, in all showed good three pitch mix. |
Troy Wansing LHP / 1B / Staley, MO / 2021Wansing is a well-built 6-foot-3 190-pound left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. Wansing showed feel for three pitches, controlled delivery, accelerates down the mound, repeats well, short over the top arm slot, arm works, fastball at 79-82 mph, occasional arm side run, breaking ball has 2-to-8 shape, throws for strikes, 68-69 mph, sharp and late break, change up has arm side sink, 73-74 mph, commands for strike, projection in build and arm action, expect increases with projectable build and arm action. |
Lucas Wilson LHP / OF / Shawnee Mission North, KS / 2019Wilson is a 5-foot-9 150-pound left-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2019 class. Wilson comes from a high three quarters arm slot, slight tilt at balance point, accelerates and works in line down the mound, fastball at 74-77 mph, has arm side run, commanded for a strike to both sides of the plate, throw both secondary pitches for strikes, has feel for breaking ball, early 1-to-7 action, 62-64 mph, change up has slight fading action, down in the zone, 68-70 mph, throws with fastball arm speed. |
