Top Prospect Games - MOKAN: 2019 Outfielders

Prep Baseball Report - Missouri/Kansas held the Top Prospect Games - MOKAN at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg on August 12.  Over sixty players attended in the 2020-2019 class. 

Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on the ScoutPlus dashboard. Player profiles have been updated with profile picture, running times, velocities, and videos.  Today will take a closer look at the 2019 Outfielders from the event. Players are listed in alphabetical order below.

2019 Outfielders

Quinten Arello OF / Staley High School, MO / 2019 Arello is a 6-foot-1 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2019 class.  He ran a 6.94 60 and a 4.31 home to first. He has an 89 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts tall and slightly open, toe tap, smooth pre-pitch rhythm in hands, level path, consistent line drives gap to gap during hitting evals.  In the outfield, 83 mph positional velocity, high three quarter arm slot, clean exchange with feet creating momentum through the catch, works behind the ball, body stays under control with fluid actions, mostly accurate throws, athletic and strong build.

Ray Bailey OF / LHP / Kickapoo , MO / 2019 Bailey is an athletically built 6-foot-2 175-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2019 class.  He ran a 7.02 60 and a 4.51 home to first.  He has an 83 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance with most weight in back side, smooth load, minimal hand movement, in line stride, some lift to swing path, high finish in hands, body stays under control, hands work inside the ball, mostly middle to opposite field contact during hitting evals.  In the outfield, 72 mph positional velocity, over the top release, quick and aggressive to the ball, quick catch and throw with feet creating momentum, mostly accurate throws,

Jason Baldwin OF / Shawnee Mission East, KS / 2019 Baldwin is an athletic 5-foot-11 180-pound right-handed hitting in Missouri’s 2019 class.  He ran a 7.14 60 and a 4.59 home to first.  He has an 84 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, slight smooth load in lower half, no wasted movement in hands, short stride, level bat path, loose hands, swing middle of the field and pull side line drives during hitting evals.  In the outfield, 77 mph positional velocity,  high three quarters arm slot, quick catch and throw, smooth and controlled actions, works through he ball, loose arm acton with mostly accurate throws.

Zack Floyd OF / SS / Lutheran St. Charles, MO / 2019 Floyd is a strong 5-foot-10 190-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2019 class.  He ran a 7.15 60 and a 4.52 home to first.  He has a 93 mph exit velocity. At the plate, thin and square set up, pre-pitch rhythm in hands, toe tap to in line stride, aggressive and level bat plane, quick hands, body stays under control, flashes pull side power with middle to pull line drives during hitting evals.  In the outfield, 86 mph positional velocity, attacks the ball with quick feet, plays though the catch, loose high three quarters arm slot, quick transfer, gains ground with footwork after the catch, accurate throws, some with carry.

Dakota Jackson RHP / OF / Gardner Edgerton , KS / 2019 Jackson is a long and lean 6-foot-3 175-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2019 class.  He ran a 7.65 0 and a 4.76 home to first.  He has an 87 mph exit velocity. At the plate, calm and accelerated swing, balanced stance, smooth load to back side with no wasted movement in hands, level swing path, swing created line drives to both gaps.  In the outfield, 74 mph positional velocity, high three quarters arm slot, controlled actions, clean exchange, works through the ball, mostly accurate throws.

Michael Jones OF / OF / Park Hill South , MO / 2019 Jones is a 5-foot-9 145-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2019 class.  He ran a 7.17 60 and a 4.84 home to first.  He has a 74 mph exit velocity. At the plate, wide set up, minimal stride, shifts weight to back leg to load, accelerates hands through contact, slightly high finish with level path, middle to pull contact during hitting evals.  In the outfield, 80 mph positional velocity, high three quarters arm slot, gains ground with footwork after the catch, fluid transfer, mostly accurate throws.

Mason Rice OF / RHP / Liberty - Wentzville, MO / 2019 Rice is a 5-foot-10 155-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2019 class.  He ran a 7.27 60 and a 4.39 home to first.  He has an 82 mph exit velocity. At the plate, simple and repeatable, square stance with weight shift to load to back side, level bat path, line drives to both gaps during hitting evals.  In the outfield, 78 mph positional velocity, high three quarters arm slot, controlled actions, clean exchange on time with fluid footwork, mostly accurate throws.
