8/12/18 - Jackson is a long and lean 6-foot-3 175-pound right-handed hitting outfielder and right handed pitcher in Kansas' 2019 class. He ran a 7.65 0 and a 4.76 home to first. He has an 87 mph exit velocity. At the plate, calm and accelerated swing, balanced stance, smooth load to back side with no wasted movement in hands, level swing path, swing created line drives to both gaps. In the outfield, 74 mph positional velocity, high three quarters arm slot, controlled actions, clean exchange, works through the ball, mostly accurate throws. On the mound, Jackson has a simple compact delivery, arms and legs coming at the hitter, regular effort, high three quarter arm slot, good direction towards target, kept hitters on balance during game action with a cutter and curveball combo. Fastball is 74-76 mph, thrown for a high percentage of strikes, cut action, showed command of glove side, curveball has gradual action, 11-to-5 shape, 59-62 mph, changeup shows some cut action, 67-68 mph.
6/26/18 - Jackson is a 6-foot-3, 175-pound right-handed pitcher and infielder in Kansas’ 2019 class from Gardner Edgerton HS. He ran a 4.50 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 86 mph. During batting practice, Jackson starts with a slightly open stance, leg lift, uses his long limbs to leverage his body, showed some pop to left field and had a single during game action. During infield evaluations, he showed range to his glove side, clean transfers, long arm, high ¾ arm slot, positional velo of 72 mph and accurate throws. On the mound, Jackson’s large frame make him a projectable prospect, delivery is compact, works downhill, gains momentum down the mound, high ¾ arm slot, clean arm action, kept hitters off balance during game action, fastball has arm side run, high percentage of strikes, 73-76 mph, curveball has 11-to-5 shape, 59-61 mph, late bite at times, changeup is 67-68 mph, good feel, fastball arm speed, strikes at bottom of the zone.
