2018 Mississippi Player Of The Year: RHP JT Ginn

The 2018 spring high school season in Mississippi generated some incredible individual moments and performances throughout all corners of the state. As the spring high school season comes to a close, Prep Baseball Report is excited to announce one player who emerged ahead of the competition at all levels in the state of Missippippi. This player has been selected not only for their outstanding statistical numbers, but also for their overall effect on their high school program.

JT Ginn 

Ginn, a senior right-handed pitcher and shortstop from Brandon HS produced a strong statistical season while helping lead his team to the 6A state playoffs. 

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Ginn with Mississippi State and recently was recently selected by the Dodgers in the 1st round of the MLB Draft. 

Ginn's all-around performance, as well as the impact he has had for Brandon High School, has earned him the 2018 Prep Baseball Report Mississippi State Player of the Year honors.

Ginn has been selected by Mississippi Scouting Director Ronald Sims and the team of area scouts who covered the high school baseball season throughout the spring. The Prep Baseball Report staff has been diligently scouting and covering baseball games at baseball diamonds across the state this spring to bring parents, athletes and fans the most comprehensive coverage of amateur baseball across the United States. The dedication and coverage allow Prep Baseball Report a credible way to identify the top athletes each year who best represent the state of Mississippi.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR

 

JT Ginn RHP / SS / Brandon, MS / 2018

Final Stats: 39.1 IP with an ERA of 0.36. Allowed only 10 hits in 149 batters faced while recording 78 strikeouts and just nine walks. At the plate the right-handed hitter batted .419 and drove in 27 runs with six doubles, two triples and nine home runs.
