7/1/2017 - 2017 TOS In one inning, but Ginn strikes out the side on 11 pitches. Mississippi State recruit with strong, athletic, 6-foot-2, 200-pound frame. Fastball was 95-97 mph with good life and he mixed in a wipeout slider 85-87 and a changeup at 87. Showed good feel for the changeup with sink and fade.
6/27/2017 - 2017 TOS The Mississippi State recruit had the best velocity of the day, touching 97 while sitting 93-96. He stands at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds with a strong frame and really loads up on backside. Heavy sinking action on his fastball and flashed a sharp breaking ball with depth at 84-85. He allowed an unearned run on a hit and a walk while striking out four in two innings.
2020 DRAFT:Another highly talented soph-eligible right-hander in this year’s draft, Ginn made the Opening Day start this spring for the Bulldogs. However, he exited after just three innings and later had Tommy John surgery in early March. A first-round pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2018, Ginn opted not to sign and was dominant for Mississippi State as a freshman, earning all-American honors. At his best, Ginn shows a sinking heater up to 97 and a wipeout slider to go with a newly developed changeup. With the likelihood of a 2020 MiLB season diminishing by the day, Ginn could sign this June as he recovers from surgery and start fresh in a pro uniform next spring.
