Flowood, MS -  The Mississippi High School Baseball season is well underway with quality matchups occuring daily. Last week the Prep Baseball Report had the chance to watch several intriguing players from across the state. Included in today’s Mississippi Scout Blog are notes on several players we caught in action this past week.

+ Mississippi State recruit, 2018 RHP/SS JT Ginn (Brandon HS, MS) recorded a no decision, as the 6-foot-2, 200-pound right hander would work for four innings allowing one run on no hits while walking one and striking out nine. The delivery is slowed and controlled with slight head jerk on release. Fastball was an electric pitch that was mostly thrown in to righty and away from lefties at 94-97 touching 99 mph with heaviness and arm side run. Velocity did settle at 91-93 mph. Breaking ball showed tight spin, late action and depth at 83-86 mph.

+ 2019 2B Reed Trimble (Northwest Rankin HS, MS) finished 2-for-5 while driving in four runs. The athletic switch-hitting second baseman showed quick hands at the plate with a simple swing and clean path through the zone. Drove a back-side single from the right side and blasted a single to left-field as a left handed hitter.
