Mid Mississippi Classic: Day 2 & 3 Action cont.
March 5, 2019
JACKSON - Although the weather conditions made it difficult to get games in this weekend, the level of competition at this year's Mid Mississippi Classic cannot be understated, as several of the top team in Mississippi and Alabama took the field. The tournament began on Thursday and Friday several teams where rained out while others were able to find alternate facilities to get play in.
Our scouting staff was able to catch Faith Acadmey (AL) and Madison Central, as they played at Milsaps College due to field conditions in Madison on Friday. Saturday matchup's stayed pretty much on schedule and allowed our staff to sit in on Germantown High where the talent rich rosters where on full display. Today we look at a few prospects we were able to catch in action.

Cade Smith, RHP, DeSoto Central, 2020
Mississippi State recruit. The right-hander works from a high slot with smooth tempo down the mound. Arm stroke is quick from front-to-back, with ball jumping out of hand. Smith pitched with a 90-92 mph fastball at the top of the zone, getting swings and misses, also showed the ability to work at the bottom of the zone. The breaking ball is a true out pitch with tight 10/4 rotation and late action that ranged 78-80 mph. Did scatter the zone at times in four innings where he allowed four hits, two walks three runs while striking out six.
