NPI: Shooter's Standouts (Uncommitted '25 Pitchers)

Shooter Hunt
Vice President, Scouting

Kicking off the summer in style at the National Program Invitational at Lakepoint, the class of 2025 was well represented with elite talent from coast-to-coast. Future superstars and class defining talent were littered amongst the country's top travel programs as they all did battled at the pristine Georgia complex. Below, a look at 10 uncommitted pitchers from the 15U division that made an impact on Shooter Hunt, PBR's Vice President of Scouting:

Tyler Baird RHP / 1B / William A Hough , NC / 2025

Baird’s upside on the mound is some of the highest in the class. In seven innings of work across two outings, the 6-foot-3, 165-pound right-hander struck out 10 thanks mainly to a fastball that was up to 90+. Wiry-athletic and long limbed, the arm works loose in the back with quickness out front from a near ¾ slot. The delivery and effort level is easy, and there is a strong chance that the velocity continues ticking up in a short time. The breaking ball is still developing, but shows some gradual 11/5 shape at 72-74, but given the quickness of the arm and slot, there is a chance that a firmer slider ultimately takes hold. Baird clearly emerged as one of the most intriguing arms in the class with his showing at the NPI, and along with the rest of an uber-talented South Charlotte Panthers squad, college coaches will be locked in for the rest of the summer.
