Scout Notes

Braydon Coffey, C, Parklane Academy, 2019
Southwest CC recruit. Estimated 5-foot-10, 200-pound frame with plenty of room for added strength. The right-handed hitter is slightly open in setup, working closed with a controlled leg lift, and balanced throughout. Defensively, possesses solid arm strength, recorded sub 2.03, 2.09 and 2.00 pop times between innings. Footwork is quick and direct, agile blocker, possesses the grit and quiet confidence neccessary behind the plate. Had a back pick during game, throwing runner out before he can make a step back to bag.

Brady Wilson, 3B, Parklane Academy, 2020
Approximately 6-foot, 200-pound frame with proportional strength throughout build. One of the most well-rounded players from the night. The left-handed hitter is short to the ball and drove the ball to all fields. Ball jumps off the bat with backspin carry, simple and quiet mechanically, lengthy stride, with a solid use of lower half. Hit two doubles on the night, almost knocking down wall in left-center field. Defensively showed athleticism on slow roler with adequate arm strength and accuracy on throws across the diamond.

Braxton Cooksey, SS, Parklane Academy, 2020
An athletic, wiry frame at an estimated 6-foot-1, 155-pounds, with plenty of room for added physical strength. Offensively has a subtle toe-tap load, with pronounced bat waggle rhythm in hands. The swing did get big and somewhat long at times with a pull side approach. On the infield, Cooksey has an athletic first step, combined with soft hands and quick transfers, throwing from a high slot with solid arm strength.

Tanner Watts, RHP, Brookhaven Academy, 2020
Sturdy frame at an estimated 6-foot-2, 200-pounds. The right hander worked from a high-¾ arm slot with short arm action, with repeatable delivery. Controlled the zone with a fastball that sat 80-83 with mostly straight action. Curveball flashed 10-4 shape at 73-74 mph with early action, also threw a changeup at 73-74 mph. Delivery was clean and created good downward tilt when throwing at the bottom of the zone.

Brady Spring, SS, Brookhaven Academy, 2020
Finished the night 0-for-3 but had really good passes at balls in the zone. The left-handed hitter has feel for the barrel and the ability to drive balls from middle of the field to the pull side. Starts from a slightly open setup, working closed with a subtle shift of weight creating good seperation in hands. Barely missed home run, driving ball to the deepest part of the park.
