Power 25 Matchup: Madison Central vs. Warren Central

Madison, MS -  The Mississippi High School Baseball season is well underway with quality matchups occuring daily. On Saturday, our scouting staff was on hand to watch a Preseason Power 25 matchup between Madison Central High School and Warren Central High School. Included in today’s Mississippi Scout Blog are notes on several players we caught in action this past week.

Caleb Sterling, C, Warren Central, 2019
Uncommitted. 5-foot-11, 180-pounds with room for added strength. The left-handed hitting catcher had a solid all around day. Displayed loose hips and receptive hands with quick, clean transfer and solid arm strength. Recorded pop times of 1.80, 1.84 in between inning and threw a runner out in game with a 1.89. At the plate, Sterling displayed a balanced approach and feel to make contact. Posted three hits on the day including a single to center field (shown in video), a double to left field and another single to center field. Finished the day the plat three-for-three with three RBI’s. Sterling also jumped on the mound in the bottom of the sixth inning pitching at 82-85 mph with fastball for 1.1 innings of work allowing three hits, two runs while striking out two.
