Subtle leg lift to load and allow hand separation, getting into balanced hitting position with rhythm and balance. Line drive type approach with level path and solid bat speed, producing an exit velocity of 86 mph. Defender works through ball athletically with soft hands, fluid footwork and clean exchanges. Short arm action into high-3/4 release, produced a positional velocity of 80 mph.

4/28/2017 Thick, strong, athletic frame, with short quick action into a strong balanced position, working downhill with in-line direction, not consistently finishing pitch with some stiffness in delivery but showed quick arm with fastball velocity at 83-85 mph and getting quality spin on breaking ball at 73-75 mph. As right-handed hitter starts with feet slightly wider than shoulder and hands in high position, lifting leg to load and allow hand separation, getting into balanced hitting position with a slight uphill path.
