South Johnston  1 Cleveland  6

Cleveland hosted South Johnston on Wednesday night in Cleveland in a non-conference game.  A tight game throughout, Cleveland pulled away with a big sixth inning to take victory.

Cleveland used three arms to work the 7 innings, giving up just 6 hits and 1 walk, while combining to strikeout 12.  South Johnston’s only run was unearned.  Offensively, the Rams were led by Casey Ryan and Elijah Pittman with two hits apiece.

Cleveland moves to 5-1 on the year and will be back in action on Friday at Southeast Raleigh HS.  South Johnston drops to 2-3 overall.  The Trojans tee it up on Friday at home vs. Fike HS.
