Late last week, Prep Baseball Report released the updated and expanded Overall Class of 2022 rankings.  North Carolina was very well represented in the expanded list with twelve players in the top 250.  The top overall player in the release hails from the Triangle area with Ryan Clifford (OF/1B, Leesville Road HS).  Clifford held onto his top billing with another solid summer and high end tools.  Of course, there are a number of players making a run for the top spot, including 7 players out of Georgia and Florida in the top 10 overall.

Below we take a look at the twelve players from North Carolina.  At this time, the top two are uncommitted with half of the twelve having made their college decision.

Ryan Clifford OF / 1B / Leesville Road, NC / 2022

Maintains the No. 1 overall ranking.  A large frame with elite power and quickness present, Clifford was a known commodity in his Freshman year and battled being pitched around and attacked by older players in a variety of ways.  Good players continue to make adjustments and evolve and Clifford did just that, working his way into a productive summer.
