NC: Brown Dominate in Huge Southwest Wake 4A Series

PBR was at Middle Creek HS for the final regular season series for Cary and Middle Creek.  The two game set will see game two played on Thursday.  Middle Creek entered the night leading the Southwest Wake 4A Conference by one game over Holly Springs, ranked No. 4 in the PBR Power 25.  Cary sat in 3rd place with Apex, Apex Friendship, and Green Level all within striking distance.  

Middle Creek scored one in the first inning on a wild pitch.  They Mustangs broke the game open with three runs in the 5th.  

On the bump, Middle Creek ace, Luke Brown, did not need much help.  He tallied 13 strikeouts in 6.1 innings.  Cary did manage 6 hits on the night but Brown was masterful, closing scoring opportunities with key two out sequences throughout the night.

Bryce Dail nailed down the final two outs of the game giving Middle Creek the win.  Middle Creek remains one game ahead of Holly Springs in the Conference at 19-4 overall and 12-1 in conference.  The Mustangs have won 14 games in a row.

Cary dropped to 12-8 overall and 7-6 in conference.  They hold onto 3rd place with Apex, Green Level, and Apex Friendship each at 6-7 in conference play.  Thursday’s game will be key to determining post-season positions throughout the Southwest Wake 4A Conference.
