Mooresville 2     Lake Norman 0

Game Recap:
In a highly anticipated matchup, two high profile senior arms took the bump for their respective schools as Mooresville traveled to Lake Norman. Justin Poris faced off with Carter Shepard in a game that was dominated on the bump.

Poris worked 5 innings for Mooresville, striking out 10 and only allowing 3 hits.  In the first two innings, Lake Norman had a runner reach base with 2 outs, but never really threatened.  In the 3rd, Poris issued two one out walks, and then sandwiched a third walk with two strikeouts, working out of a jam.  That would be the closest Lake Norman would get to scoring.

For Mooresville, a two run 4th inning would prove to be enough.  With one on and one out, Nick Merriman doubled to center field, moving Andrew Martin to third.  John Faulkenberry followed with a single to right scoring both runners.

Lake Norman’s starter, Carter Shepard, worked six innings, giving up 4 hits and 3 walks while striking out 9.
