Good balance throughout his swing with a controlled approach. Loose hands with barrel whip through the zone. Gets his barrel in the zone with it working slightly uphill after contact. Feel for the barrel, driving the ball mostly middle to his pull side. Above average bat speed with his exit velocity peaking at 90-mph. Athletically plays through balls in the outfield with fluid feet and average hands. Long, loose arm action, throwing from a high ¾ slot. Arm has carry topping at 84 mph. Recorded a 3.88 in the 30-yard dash, 4.52 in the 5-10-5, and 9-1 in the standing broad jump. |
Penn Sealey RHP / 3B / Broughton, NC / 2019Rankings StateRank: 108 / POS: 37
Lanky and athletic at 6-foot-4, 180 pounds. Easy to project more stuff coming as he matures the frame. Length in his limbs. Simple rocker creating tempo to an average leg lift with a slight tuck from the upper body. Long, loose arm swing works to a high-3/4 slot. Arm is quick. Lands on-line at foot strike with a square toe. Back side is aggressive allowing the head to remain stable throughout the delivery. Fastball at 83-85, dipping to 82-83 from the stretch with a slide step. Run to the arm side on the fastball. Breaking ball rolls with a slight hump out of the hand at 70-72. 11/5 tilt with near fastball hand speed. High ceiling as the body continues to add strength. |
Spencer Calloway RHP / OF / East Forsyth , NC / 2019Rankings StateRank: 309 / POS: 89
Lanky 6-foot-1, 165 pounds. Long limbs. Plenty of room to continue to add strength. Small rocker to an average leg kick. Slightly coiled at balance, closing his line as the hands separate. Lands across his line with a square toe, falling to the 1B side on release. Short arm action allowing the hand to work outside the elbow as it gets to the top of its arc. Over-the-top slot. Fastball flooded the zone, straight, at 73-81. Breaking ball has some depth with 11/5 tilt and gradual break at 62-66. Flashed feel for his change-up at 71. Good feel for the zone and moving the baseball. Pounded the zone throughout the bullpen. |
Jacob Carter RHP / Crest, NC / 2019Rankings StateRank: 113 / POS: 39
Strong frame and long legs with a high waist. Stands 6-foot-4, 170 pounds. Frame will continue to handle strength with more maturation. Fastball up to 84, sitting 81-82 with ease, playing catch hand pounding the zone throughout the bullpen. Breaking ball is hard and sharp at times with 11/5 tilt at 70-72. Good feel for landing the spin pitch. Change-up is straight with deception out of the hand at 74-76. Simple delivery with a stable head over the rubber. Average leg kick, remaining level and in-line. Lands on-line with a slightly closed toe. Average back side leads to some extension, finishing through his target. Clean arm swing with a high-3/4 release and some hand speed. Arm should continue to grow with this setup. |
