Luke Brown, RHP, Middle Creek HS, 2023
Clemson commit. 6-foot-7, 185 pound build. Tall and lanky. Plenty of room to add weight and strength. Easy future projection as he is a good athlete around the mound as well. Fastball at 85-88 and touched 90. Big downward curveball resulted in numerous swing and misses. Attacked the zone with some ease and commanded the game with the ball in his hand.
Eli Jerzembeck, RHP, Providence HS, 2022
South Carolina commit. Athletic presence at 6-foot-2, 180 pounds. Length in the legs. Straight line build. Works with pace, attacking hitters with a flood of strikes and limited time between pitches. Hand pump and easy turn, gathering and taking his time to the leg kick, lifting to the mid-chest. Builds delivery rhythm out of balance with an average stride, working online with a square foot-strike. Level and stable throughout. Repeats well. Medium arm action that loads the scapular with rhythm and athleticism. Over-the-top slot. Advanced arm speed. Aggressive with good direction. Manipulates the arms finish at times, especially on the breaking ball. Typical finish has length, down and across. Will finish more up-right and across his chest as he works to lengthen the breaking ball. Fastball played true with good feel for the zone, lacking advanced feel for any one spot. Showed average feel for working up and down. Fastball ranged 90-94 throughout, sitting 92-94 in the 1st two innings, spinning at 2500rpm. Settled at 91-94 in the 5th, spinning at 2400rpm. Elite breaking ball works from the same window and line as the fastball, exploding through a 10/4 tilt. Occasional advanced length. Occasional advanced depth. Flooded the zone with the breaking ball, attacking the zone and showing an ability to expand when warranted. Breaking ball at 77-80, spinning between 2850 - 3100rpm. 86 pitches in a complete game 11 strikeout performance. Very efficient, showing an ability to get swing and miss on the breaking ball at any time. The breaking ball projects to be an out pitch as he continues to climb levels in the coming years.
Jacob Kirby, RHP, Ardrey Kell HS, 2023
UNC commit. Lean and projectable 6-foot-4, 185 pounds. Simple delivery that worked to find rhythm and pacing in his 5 innings of work. Stable head and average kick. Works on-line with a square foot-strike. Medium to long arm swing. High-3/4 slot. Above average arm speed. Fastball sat 85-88, early, settling at 82-85 as the game progressed. Fastball spin suggests an ability to miss bats as he continues to add strength to his frame, spinning up to 2500rpm. Featured a slider and curveball. Leaned on the slider early at 74-78, 2450rpm. Short, horizontal action, outside the fastball window early, giving hitters a chance to adjust. Overhand curveball is a potential out pitch that give hitters fits at 68-71, 2770rpm. Top to bottom action with late, hard depth. Showed solid feel for landing the pitch. Threw an above average change-up that should become a weapon down the line as well with solid arm speed, from a slightly lower slot at 76-78, 1650rpm. A little firm, the change did get bad swings based on hard, late fade to the arm side.
Andrew Sentlinger, LHP, Ardrey Kell HS, 2022
Virginia Tech commit. Athletic 6-foot-2, 180 pound build. Loose, athletic hips. Solid quick twitch present. Medium arm swing to a high-3/4 slot. Lands on-line with the foot in an open position at foot-strike. Athletic through his delivery and attacked the zone with 3 pitches. Fastball at 88-90, 2300rpm. Late slider with short, 2/8 tilt kept hitters off the barrel at 80-81, 2400rpm. Showed a top to bottom breaking ball with late depth at 74-77.
Matthew Suppa, C, Ardrey Kell HS, 2022
Queens commit. Thick frame at 5-foot-10, 210 pounds. Average bend with solid hands behind the dish. Worked to block and recover. Showed good feet on a couple of bunt plays, moving well for his size. Excellent game throwing from the crouch, with game pop times of 2.29, 2.09, 2.07, and 2.08, throwing out 3 base runners attempting to take 2B. Quick transfers with the feet getting out of the stance quick. Short arm action and a natural high-3/4 slot that he would manipulate to get rid of the throw quicker. Regardless of his slot, there was at least average carry with limited fade, while very accurate. Right handed hitter had some comfort facing 90-94, approaching his three at-bats with a plan and finding two barrels.
Isaac Pena, SS, Ardrey Kell HS, 2024
Physical 6-foot, 180 pound build. Right handed hitter showed an ability to get to an elite fastball, even working early and for extension in a 3-1 cut off 92mph. Good hands and feet with a short exchange and arm action working to an over-the-top slot. Easy carry and accurate across the diamond. Arm will play with ease on the left side.
Harrison Lewis, RHP, 2023, West Forsyth
North Carolina commit. Physical build at 6-foot-5, 235-pounds. Lewis participated in the 2021 Future Games with Team Carolina and had a strong showing at the 2022 NC ProCase earlier this year. Fastball worked at 86-90 mph (2200-2300 spin). Touched 91 mph in the 4th with a runner in scoring position. Breaking ball at 67-72 mph (2100 spin). Threw mostly fastballs on the night attacking hitters and showing feel for both sides of the plate. Worked on from the stretch. Arm strength present with above average arm speed. Allowed 2 hits, no walks and struck out 6 in 6 innings of work.
Lucas Manning, C, 2022, West Forsyth
Holy Cross commit. Strength present with a sturdy build. Big night at the plate with 4 hits and 3 runs batted in. Doubled to both left and right field, lined another ball to left and dropped down a bunt single. Sets up balanced at the plate, hands start near the back ear, simple load. Hands are strong with a short path, barrel feel and better than average bat speed. Hands work with ease behind the plate.
Bryson Chandler, OF, 2022, West Forsyth
CVCC commit. Strength exits in a 5-foot-11 frame. Barreled balls to both left and right field. Balanced in the box with a slightly closed base, hands at the back shoulder, hands load back stepping slightly open. Aggressive approach with loose hands and his barrel staying through the ball.
Skyler Mathis, RHP, Pinecrest HS, 2022
Methodist commit. 5-foot-8, 160 pounds. Closed through balance with an average leg kick. Level with a glove point as the arm works through a medium action and high-¾ slot. Lands open on his line with a square foot-strike. Short strider. Fastball ranged 80-82. Some run when on the arm side. Slider at 68-69, rolling 11/5 tilt.
Grayson Myrick, INF/P, JH Rose HS, 2022
Barton College commit. Thick through the chest, standing 5-foot-11, 200 pounds. Excellent barrel feel from the right side, looking to do damage as he gets his swing off. Showed feel for the strike zone and solid pitch recognition. Homered to left and then doubled to left center with the ball jumping off the barrel.
On the bump, the fastball peaked at 86, sitting 82-84. Sweeping breaking ball with a big timing difference ranged 61-64. Strike thrower, worked with confidence and attacked hitters.
Chase Anderson, RHP, JH Rose HS, 2022
Barton College commit. Rangy with length at 6-foot, 170 pounds. Methodical over the rubber, ramping up his pace as the foot strikes. Hand pump as the leg kicks. Stable head. On-line and level, lands with a square foot-strike slightly across his line. Long arm action bottoms out leaving the glove then working to an over-the-top slot. Fastball ranged 80-84, 1900-2000rpm. Breaking ball at 63-67, up to 2350rpm. Hump out of the hand. 11/5 tilt, occasionally converting to more of a sweeping action. Solid depth late that gave hitters issues. Flooded the zone as the outing continued to the middle innings.
Riley Williams, OF, DH Conley HS, 2024
East Carolina commit. Athletic and twitchy at 5-foot-10, 160 pounds. Left handed hitter sits in his legs with a simple load and small stride. Direct, working flat through the ball. Excellent bat speed. Showed advanced feel for his barrel, and an ability to work linear to stay on off speed. Good runner. Moved well in right field, tracking balls with some ease over each shoulder.
Spencer Nolan, SS, Hoggard HS, 2022
Charlotte commit. Athletic frame with a rangy body, standing 6-foot-4, 175 pounds. Clean actions at short with solid flex through the hips. Hands worked.
