Player of the Week nominations are submitted by High School coaches across North Carolina each week.  Along with the nominations, Prep Baseball Report is diving into box scores, talking to coaches and scouts, and attending as many games as possible.

PBR's staff sifts through the information sent in and seen by our scouts to determine the PBR Player of the Week every Tuesday.  You can see a full list of players off to a hot start in Diamond Notes, a collection of notes, stats, and highlights from the past week, published every Wednesday during the season.

The PBR Player of the Week for March 18 - 24, 2019 is Trey Lambert.  Lambert is a Junior LHP from East Wilkes HS.  While his one week performance, throwing a no-hitter with 20 strikeouts certainly deserves recognition, it is his past three weeks that sealed the Player of the Week honors.  Over his last three starts, Lambert has thrown 3 no-hitters.  In 17 innings thrown, with three complete game no-hitters, Lambert has punched 40 hitters.

In the no-hitter this week over Ashe County, Lambert worked 7 innings, allowing only 2 walks, 0 runs, and struck out 20.  The game was tight early, scoreless through 3 innings before the East Wilkes offense opened the game up with a 4 run 4^th and 2 run 5^th.  Lambert used 102 pitches to complete the no-no.
