May 3, 2021
Charlotte Country Day – 1 Ardrey Kell – 4
Ardrey Kell hosted Charlotte Country Day in a non-conference matchup on Friday. Kell would use two young arms to hold down the Country Day offense, giving the Knights offense some time to get on track.
Andrew Sentlinger (2022 LHP) worked 4 innings for the win, giving up 1 earned run on 2 hits and 2 walks. Behind Sentlinger, Jacob Kirby (2023 RHP) closed the door punching 3 over his 3 innings of work.
Offensively, the Knights scored 4 runs in the third. A one out walk was followed by a double from Miles Creech (2021 OF) to put runners on 2B and 3B. Dillon Lewis (2021, OF) singled to left, plating two and giving Kell a 2-1 lead. Later in the inning the Knights would plate two runs on two separate Buc errors, pushing the lead to 4-1.

Dillon Lewis, OF, Ardrey Kell HS, 2021
Queens University commit. Physical presence with strength present and a defined lower half. Stands 6-foot-3, 195 pounds. Right handed hitter is quiet working from a balanced setup. Small leg lift works to a small stride as the hands use a small load, positioning down slightly. Works for extension, wanting to go pull side. Slight leak through the hips toward the pull side. Better than average bat speed. Showed barrel feel. Offensive plan, at-bat to at-bat is raw and needs to develop conviction. In the outfield, worked left and right with some ease. Solid above average runner. Can fight the hands a bit on the catch, cut secured everything. Long arm action with average carry, showing solid accuracy.
Isaac Pena, SS, Ardrey Kell HS, 2024
Clemson commit. Physical for a freshman with strength present at 6-foot, 170 pounds. Can be high in the hips but with solid rhythm in the feet and hands. Hands are soft and handled the routine play, routinely, while flashing quickness on the move to the left. Good athlete with solid sense of balance. Short arm action works to a high-3/4 slot from an easy transition. Showed the ability to throw with accuracy and carry off platform. Right handed hitter has whip through the zone. As he continues to add strength, look for power to emerge. Average runner at this time
Brendan Pouliot, RHP, Charlotte Country Day, 2022

Breaking ball works with a slight hump out of the hand, striving for top to bottom action, but showing some sweep at times, ranging 67-69. Straight change has deception and solid arm speed at 78-80.
