On Wednesday, October 13, the PBR Illinois staff traveled to Robinson, Illinois, to host the Lincoln Trail CC Scout Day. Roughly 35+ prospects, all of which are uncommitted, participated in a pro-style workout in front of our staff.
Today, our scouting staff will begin to roll out all our prototypical post-event content pieces, starting with this statistical analysis. Below we’ll highlight players that put up numbers from a traditional standpoint, such as leaders in the 60-yard dash, max throwing velocities, and other data gathered from the day.
We’ll also roll out more analysis as the week rolls on, like a takeaways piece from the day and deeper data dives with the statistics collected from our technological partners at TrackMan and Blast Motion.
For now, take a look at which players put out noteworthy statistical outputs.
+ Two standouts from the outfielders Sam Seeker and Ben Brombaugh. Both recorded max throws above 90 mph from the outfield, the only two from the day, and they each also ran sub-7.00 times in the 60-yard dash, too.
+ Behind the plate, C Kaid Muth filled up the stat sheet, putting up numbers across the board. The 6-foot, 170-pound athlete jolted to a 6.81 time in the 60-yard dash, showcasing advanced athleticism for his position. Muth paced the catchers in throwing velocity, reaching an 80 mph high from the chute, and he also averaged the day’s best pop times at 1.84-to-1.96. Another backstop that looked the part was 6-foot-2, 185-pound C Krayton Morse, who finished one tick below Muth for the day’s hardest throw from behind the dish and averaged 1.95-to-2.04 seconds to the bag.
+ From the infield, MIF Colby Morse paced the entire group in throwing velocity, as the 5-foot-11, 155-pound prospect fired a 91 mph max across the diamond. MIF Shea Hendrixson offers some explosive twitch inside a compact, athletic frame. Hendrixson finished a few ticks behind the event lead in throwing velocity across the diamond, reaching back for an 88 mph high across the diamond.
+ Three different batters recorded max exit velocities at the century mark: INF Will Richter, OF Brady Vaughn, and OF Ike Book. Both Book and Richter showed off advanced arm strength from the outfield as well, recording max throws above 88 mph, respectively.
+ Eight different arms recorded fastballs above 88 mph in their ‘pens, including five arms that were at 90+ mph. RHP Cole McMichael and RHP Zachary Nehlsen each topped at 92 mph to lead the day, both of them sitting at 90-91 mph throughout their respective bullpens. RHP Drew Fieger, RHP Wyatt Geesaman, and RHP Logan Jones were three arms that bumped 90 mph highs, too.
