2022 Ranking Risers: Rylan Evans

Brett Harrison
Nevada Scouting Director

Nevada prospects have gained steam on the national scale, evident by the five prospects landing in the 2022 PBR National Players Rankings with the most notable being Bishop Gorman product, Justin Crawford, and Palo Verde standout, Mason Neville, cracking the Top 30. The PBR National Rankings have brought a wave of positive attention to players throughout our state and we will continue to highlight those players with the PBR Rankings Riser that will feature the some of the most improved players in the recent rankings update.

Moapa Valley product, Rylan Evans, is a small school product that had a huge Nevada Top Prospect event where he showcased impressive actions on both sides of the ball. One of the few hitters to post a 100+ TrackMan Exit Velocity, his present power to the pull side was on display while also showcasing his ability to drive to all fields with triple driven to the right-center field wall during the game portion of the event. Defensively, the middle infielder's smooth actions separated him his fellow middle infielders at the event with the expected improvements in his foot speed projected to expanded his lateral range. During the game play portion of the event, Evans made a "Jeter" play to the backhand side proving his athleticism should allow him to stay up the middle at the next level. Rylan will be attending this weekend's Winter Hitter Update and is expected to carry his success from this summer into the final event of 2020.
