The Bases Loaded Elite Scout Day in the books, we now take a look back at the standouts from yesterday's event. The Scout Day included a Pro-Style Workout where players ran a Laser Timed 60 Yard Dash, took a Batting Practice, Catcher Pop Times/Velocity, Outfield Evaluations/Velocity and Infield Evaluation/Velocity concluding with Pitches Bullpens. This was an exclusive event for players in the Bases Loaded Elite program to highlight current players as well as a spotlight on the current state of the program itself.

The barrel chested 2021 utility player got the Bases Loaded Elite Scout Day started off with a loud batting practice round from the left side of the plate with his power potential on display, especially to the pull side. His athletic set up at the plate with a high, one handed finish helped him elevate the ball throughout his round. Defensively, his present strength helped him receive and block the ball with some quickness behind the plate to help achieve a Pop Time just over the 2.00 mark with some mechanical tweaks that should bring that Pop Time down. Gledhill also has the ability to switch-throw, playing first base left handed, where his ability to receive behind the plate translates to the infield as he presents a quality targets and feel around the bag.
2022 C/1B and @PBR_Uncommitted, Garren Gledhill, got things started on the offensive side of the ball with his power potential on display, especially to the pull side for @BLEbaseball. Nico is a Prep Baseball Report event veteran, but his performance on the mound at BLE Scout Day was easily his best yet. The developing 6-foot-3, 205 pound prospect with long limbs that worked well on the mound with his raw delivery type where he used minimal lower half and was more of a throw type at this point, but was able to locate his four pitch mix. His fastball topped out at 83 mph out of a somewhat loose, high 3/4 arm slot with some arm side life and downhill action to go with it. His slider and curveball hover around the same 71-73 velocity range with his slider featuring more of a sweeping action and his curveball coming in with more 11/5 shape, both of which he threw for strikes. His changeup was living in the 74-75 mph range and mirrored his fastball movement with some sink and fade. This is a guys who could see big jumps coming over the next few years and is someone to keep on your radar.
2022 @PBR_Uncommitted RHP, Nico Guevara, has a projectable 6’3/205 frame with a raw delivery and a four pitch mix from a high 3/4 slot with some looseness in the arm and seemingly much more to come for @BLEbaseball #BeSeen

Savage was one of the few seniors to attend the Bases Loaded Elite event. The 6-foot-0, 180 pound, two-way prospect out of Shadow Ridge earned one of the top batting practice rounds of the day using a crouched, rhythmic set up to produced a line drive filled round to the big part of the yard. Defensively, his athleticism shined through with clean footwork through the fielding process where he posted the day's Top Outfield Velocity at 83 mph. On the mound, he also relied mostly on his athleticism to help him throw an event best 84 mph with flashes of projectable actions on his secondary pitches.
2021 @PBR_Uncommitted OF/RHP, Max Savage, lived gap to gap during his line drive filled round, followed it up with an event best 83 mph OF Velo for @BLEbaseball. On the mound, he used an athletic delivery to help locate his 3 pitch mix with his FB topping out at 84 mph #BeSeen pic.twitter.com/fZlGGqdXf1

The lone 2025 player at the Bases Loaded Elite Scout Day seemed to fit right in among the high school aged athletes. The brother of Nevada's #1 ranked 2021 prospect and #86 Nationally, Tyler Whitaker, James had some actions that mirrored his brother with the way he attacked the ball at the plate as he showed the power potential to the pull side that we expect to increase significantly over the coming years. Defensively, he moved well laterally for a player his age and size with some fluidity through the ball that will continue to smooth out as he adds more strength to his frame. The 6-foot-1, 160 pound eighth grader oozes projection with his long, lean frame and premium bloodlines. Keep an eye on James Whitaker.
