GAME RECAP

CORONADO (4) - DESERT OASIS (2)

The Top 10 matchup was primed for an offensive performance, but the two Uncommitted arms that toed the rubber yesterday had different plans. Desert Oasis’ 2023 right hander, Seth Graham Pippin, who Prep Baseball Report’s Vice President, Shooter Hunt, has as the top Uncommitted prospect in Nevada put together an excellent outing, throwing a complete game while allowing one earned run while striking out six with a pair of defensive miscues allowing the Cougars to bring across three unearned at a critical part of the game. Coronado’s 2022 RHP, Noah Wasano, earned Player of the Game honors for the second time this Spring as he continues to rack up quality starts with his ability to locate his fastball down in the zone to go with his go to breaking ball that proved effective as he kept hitters off balance and chasing throughout the game, going 6.0 IP while striking out five. Coronado’s Uncommitted leadoff hitter, Kyle Kiernan, continues to be a catalyst for the the Cougars as a player who almost guarantees a gritty at-bat, racking up two hits of his own yesterday. University of Redlands signee, Kethan Efron, has also continued a huge year both on the mound and at the plate, hitting .519, bringing in a run for his team lead 12th of the year while maintaining a .583 ERA through his first three starts. Expect these two to meet up again later in the season as they both look to make deep playoff runs with the 2022 NIAA 5A State Championship in their sites.
