Inside the Rankings: 2021 Catchers

Brett Harrison
Nevada Scouting Director

Next, we dive into the 2021 class, providing you with a position by position analysis of the top players in what could be the next great class to come out of Nevada. Creating the PBR Rankings are never an easy process, but with the help of our Scout Days, prior PBR events as well as PBR Scouts and associates watching more games, tracking and reporting on more players than any other anybody else in the industry, we are excited to take a break down each class at each position over the coming days.

We continue on looking Inside the Rankings with the Top Ranked Catchers that features a roster full of exceptional receivers. The catcher group is highlighted by recent UNLV commit and #11 overall prospect in the 2021 class, Gavin Mez, who rounds out one of the best local recruiting classes the Rebels have had in recent years. The Top Ranked Catchers also has a strong Northern Nevada presence with Carson's Bryce Baker, who has the makeup of a high level catcher and Reed's Gavin Zappe, had a great workout at the Northern Nevada Scout Day earlier this year. Each of these catchers feature tools that will play at the next level and should have more than a couple commitments to announce by the end of the summer.

Below we take a look at a handful of the top ranked corner infielders in the the Nevada 2021 class.
