Team Nevada: Cooper Sheff

Brett Harrison
Nevada Scouting Director

With the PBR Future Games exactly one month out, we are going to take a look at the prospects selected to represent Team Nevada. These are the best Uncommitted prospects that our state has to offer in the 2022 - 2023 classes and are expected to be some of the first prospects off the board. I am extremely excited about this years team with level of talent that will representing our state against the top Uncommitted players from around the country.

Cooper Sheff - IF/RHP

Cooper Sheff announced his presence at the Basic Scout Day when he ran it up to 86 mph on mound after a batting practice round where he showed his ability to spray the ball all over the yard. Defensively, he can hold down a middle infield position with the smooth actions he possesses, but at 6-foot-2 he may eventually find himself as a corner guy, especially if he continue to fill out physically. At the plate, he has a clean, rhythmic stroke that has started to gain serious confidence over the past few months, but his future may lie on the bump. Up to 86 mph as an incoming freshman, he has an long, loose arm action that creates sink and fade on his fastball and changeup while his breaking ball showed late bite when he released it far enough out front. This a prospect that could take off after the Future Games when he performs as we expect him too.

Sheff's stock skyrocketed after his performance at the Basic Scout Day
