Uncommitted Spotlight: 2022 IF Jordan Boman

Brett Harrison
Nevada Scouting Director

As the we begin the Winter Season, heading into the first "normal" Spring since 2019, the next few months will be critical for players in the Class of 2022 as collegiate programs at each level are solidifying their recruiting rosters. The NCAA Recruiting Calendar allows for limited contact during the current time period and as a result of that, recruiting coordinators have turned to social media and website coverage of players to help provide objective insight on potential prospects. With that, we will begin highlighting the top prospects the Silver State has to offer in an effort to get our players with college aspirations an opportunity at the next level, wherever that may be with the Uncommitted Spotlight feature.

JORDAN BOMAN - CENTENNIAL | IF

+ PBR West Coast Games Report - "The most physical prospect at the inaugural West Coast Games, Boman currently stands at 6-foot-4, 220 pound. He showed impressive athleticism and bat speed for someone his size, evident by his 105.43 mph TrackMan Peak Exit Velocity that was on display to the big part of the yard as well as his 95.39 mph Average Exit Velocity that proved he could find the barrel with consistency throughout his round as well. During the game play portion of the event, he showed his athleticism around the bag, presenting a quality target for his infielders with an ability to extend and handle balls in the dirt. Offensively, his best game came in Game 3 vs. Utah where he racked up a pair of opposite field singles that kept the line moving for Team Nevada in a pair of critical innings that lead to a victory for the Silver State. His at-bats seemed to progress throughout the weekend with the more pitches he saw leading to more barrels to the big part of the yard."

It is hard to miss the Centennial product who currently stands at 6-foot-4, 220 pounds and he has proven time and time again that he could be a significant contributor at the next level. His summer season culminated with a standout performance at the inaugural West Coast Games where he announced his presence during the Team Nevada workout where he produced one of the top batting practice rounds of the entire event that saw him not only lead the entire event in Peak Exit Velocity at 105.4 mph, but also top the leaderboard in Average Exit Velocity at 95.4 mph. For a physical prospect like Boman, it would seem commonplace that he lives mostly to the pull side as a "Get the head out. Let it fly" type, but he has shown throughout his prep career that he loves to utilize the big part of the yard, staying mostly gap to gap with obvious present power to both. Boman had a breakout year for the Bulldogs last Spring, carrying that success into a huge Summer for GBG Vegas, then finishing his Summer season with a standout performance at the West Coast Games. Keep an eye on this one as a player that could be coming off the board sooner rather than later.
