Inside the Ranking: Top Five 2025 RHP's (NY/PA)

In conjunction with our National and State Rankings being updated and released we will start to roll out more website content regarding the state rankings and a deeper dive into some of the players. Pennsylvania and New York are both talent rich states and there is no service out there today that is scouting, covering, and reporting on more players than the Prep Baseball Report.
TOP FIVE 2025 RHP's (NY/PA)

Miguel Sime RHP / OF / Saint Mary's , NY / 2025Miguel comes in as my No. 1 RHP in the 2025 class (in NY/PA). Burly frame standing 6-foot-2, 225-pounds with plenty of upside from the mound. Currently the No. 85 ranked player in the 2025 class (Nationally) Sime has been making serious strides all summer. He uses a deliberate delivery, full arm-swing, and releases from a power 3/4 slot, FB peaked 92mph already with even more expected as he continues to mature. Sime also shows feel for a tight shaped breaking ball. Ceiling is as lofty as they come this early in his development. I'm excited to follow him over the next few years.

Drew Kindlon RHP / OF / Albany Academy, NY / 2025No stranger to the Prep Baseball Report, Kindlon continues to improve and show why he is the No. 185 player in the 2025 class Nationally and my No. 2 RHP ('25 class both NY/PA). The Virginia commitment works with a fast tempo throughout his delivery, clean arm-action, power arm-slot with a FB that peaked 89 mph. The breaking pitches are already average offerings in the upper 60s, low 70s (11/7 shape). I love the way he competes on the mound. |

Christian Lucarelli RHP / 3B / Riverside, PA / 2025Rankings State Rank: 9 / POS: 1
Lucarelli comes in as my No. 3 RHP in the 2025 class (in NY/PA). He stands 6-foot-0, 180-pounds from a durable build. He works from a compact delivery, offers some pace and repeatability, shorter backswing with fast hand-speed on the frontside, high 3/4 slot release. FB peaked 89 (2400 spin) sitting mid to uppers with both a slider and curveball offering. He's aggressive which is something I really look for in pitchers and I don't think he's hit his ceiling yet. Can't wait to follow his progress this winter and spring. |

Thomas Case RHP / 3B / Shaker, NY / 2025Rankings State Rank: 11 / POS: 4
Coming in as the No. 4 RHP in the 2025 class (in NY/PA) is the greater Albany NY native Thomas Case. Wiry and athletic, Case stands 6-foot1, 160-pounds with a high waist. Slower pace to his delivery, full/clean arm-swing with low effort. His release point is between a mid 3/4 and power slot 3/4 with a FB peaking 86 mph. Clear signs of more velocity in the tank. Case already shows feel for a late depth CB (under the lefties barrel shape). Expect to see Case really start taking some strides forward as he adds weight and strength. Plenty to dream on from the Eastern NY prospect. |

Kade Sell RHP / SS / Bishop Guilfoyle, PA / 2025Rankings State Rank: 23 / POS: 3
Kade Sell comes in as my No. 5 RHP in the 2025 class (in NY/PA). Lots to like from the lean and tall righty - 6-foot-3, 175-pounds with a frame able to hold more weight. Delivery is simple and repeatable, arm-swing is a little short in the back and releases from a higher 3/4 slot. FB peaked at 83.4 mph back in the summer with a slower 12/6 shape curveball. Sell is an athlete (6.88 runner) and his stock has just began to climb in my option. I wouldn't be surprised if he makes incredible jumps this preseason and into the Summer. Very excited to follow Kade's development. |

Mason Holloway RHP / 2B / Horseheads, NY / 2025Rankings State Rank: 8 / POS: 3
We were lucky enough to see Mason throw at two PBRT events this summer where he has matured from his picture (back in '20) and his "stuff" has gotten really good. FB has been anywhere from 84-88 mph with more growth expected from the Southern-Tier prospect. Plays HS for Horseheads (rich in tradition program) where he will look to have a breakout campaign. Excited to see the upstate NY righty continue his development. |
