Game Performance

Notes

Comments

7/27/22

Physical: Projectable 6-foot, 179lb frame that has seen strength tick up in recent months.

Pitching: RHP. Starts from the far left corner of the rubber; momentum-gaining pace out of a repeatable delivery, blocking off the front-side properly at release. H ¾ power slot on the FB, up to 85-88 mph (2390), going to mostly. Mixed an improving 70-72 mph CB on an 11/5 tilt and flashed a developing 75-80 mph CH as the third offering.

6/14/22

Physical: Durable, athletic 6-foot, 179lb frame with starter’s potential.

Pitching: RHP. Begins off the left side of the rubber; faster, up-tempo pace in a compact delivery, staying stacked over the mound before closing the gap with a dynamic arm from H ¾ slot. The FB ranged 86-89 mph (2430) with elite vertical approach angle to each quadrant, gaining swing/miss at the belt over two innings of work. Mixed an improved 70-73 mph CB with short two-plane action and commanded a 75-81 mph CH from a slightly lower release height.

7/28/21

Physical: Durable, well-put together 5-foot-11, 170lb frame. 7.89 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Upright, narrow stance inside shoulder-width as the hands operated with flat rhythm to start. Utilized a lift and replace stride with coil on the forward move as the barrel initiated through a flat, whippy path into the hitting zone. Held a mostly taller posture throughout the swing promoting a line drive approach during his round. Good bat to ball skills and posted a T80 mph bat-exit velocity with more coming. Future ability to hit for some average with clean swings in-game.

Defensively: The third baseman stuck the foot in the ground and moved quickly in either lateral direction from a medium-low base. Presented the glove on time in and outside the frame with accuracy, funneling to the belt with rhythm. Did not throw on this date.

6/22/21

Physical: 5-foot-11, 170 pounds; Athletic, broad shouldered build. 8 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; upright bat position. Short take back with the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Drifts into contact while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a moderate swing path with a one-handed finish.  More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 82 MPH via Trackman.

Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; walks into ready position while stays low while receiving. Hands are out in front while funneling to the hip before transfer. Moderate arm circle  from a standard 3/4 arm slot.   INF - 69 MPH.

Pitching: Lucarelli uses a glove side setup while using an angled drop step. Belt high leg drive with a slight coil away from the plate. Has a moderate stride while landing closed. Moderate arm swing while without restrictions, while working through a high 3/4 slot. Spins off 1B side with finish. FB: Peak velo of 81 MPH, while sitting 79-81 MPH; plays up in the zone. CB: 64-66 MPH; early action.  CH: 70 MPH; fading action.

3/30/19

5-foot-1, 115-pound right-handed hitter starts with a square stance utilizing a heel-raise to initiate a balanced swing. Displayed feel for the barrel during batting practice recording a 63 mph bat-exit velocity. Demonstrated developing feel behind the plate registering throws of 54 mph from the crouch. Ran a 5.09 home-to-first time. The right-handed pitcher sat 61-64 mph out of a high 3/4, repeatable delivery. Showed feel for spin on his 52-54 mph curveball that featured 11/5 rotation. His 55-57 mph changeup was thrown with good sell and flashed arm-side fade.
