PA 2025 Rankings Update

Ted Williams
VP of Scouting/Content

League playoffs have officially started across the state, which means it's time for our staff to sit down for a modest pre-summer update to the 2025 class rankings. The depth of quality arms coming out of PA from year-to-year is nothing short of impressive, headlined by RHP Christian Lucarelli (Riverside) & RHP Danny Nelson (Hershey).

Some shuffling occurred inside the Top-10, as Clemson commit 3B/RHP Jason Fultz (Cathedral Prep) was crowned #1 overall. C Joshua Toole (Hempfield), arguably the state's top defender, pushed upwards to the 2nd OVR spot. A pair of other upside names jumped onto the board in SS Andrew Pellicciotta (Malvern Prep) at #9 and RHP Nico Varlotta (North Allegheny) at #10.

Included below is a full list of the 200 ranked, biggest risers in the class, and an updated "players to watch."

THE TOP 10

Jason Fultz 3B / RHP / Cathedral Prep, PA / 2025

Just when we think the body is maxed out, he adds another round of physicality and emerges better than the last. Among the state leaders in HR (6) while leading undefeated PA #1 Cathedral Prep in multiple offensive categories. Also 90+MPH across the INF.

Clemson commit

Joshua Toole C / 3B / Hempfield, PA / 2025

Hard to match his production as a catch-and-throw guy, down to mid-1.80's in showcase setting with 79MPH arm-strength. Blocks, receives, and really does it all out of multiple setups behind the plate. Don't forget about the T99MPH EV w/ impact juice from the RH box either.

Coastal Carolina commit

Christian Lucarelli RHP / Riverside, PA / 2025

The ex-Future Gamer touched T93MPH this spring from an extremely fluid arm-stroke. At 6-foot-2, 185-pounds with an improved CB and SPL in the arsenal, there's room to believe more is coming. Pitches on a flat VAA at 2400+rpms and kills a low-80's CH (870rpms).

Duke commit

Danny Nelson RHP / OF / Hershey, PA / 2025

Though the frame shows light at times, the arm-speed can be special, holding 90-92MPH when we were in attendance a few months ago. Elastic range-of-motion and can land SL to the back foot of LHH. Battled w/ top ranked Jeff Lougee and got him on strikes 1st AB.

Clemson commit

Kaden Hathaway 3B / RHP / Trinity, PA / 2025

Wiry, projectable with all the tools to make it work, Hathaway delivered a personal best 90MPH INF arm at #NEProcase and reached upper-80's with T87MPH FB. The defense continues to be a bonus, as well as a leveraged approach. Our 2nd highest ranked two-way prospect.

West Virginia commit

Coy Allman C / RHP / Donegal , PA / 2025

Ultra-mature with a slow heartbeat, Allman joined Team PA at #PBRFG22 and handled himself well on the big stage. The frame added clean mass, EV's into the mid-90's, and now finding the long ball. It's A/AVG defend from a simple, quick transfer with an 80MPH positional arm.

Uncommitted

Ben Peterson C / OF / Canon-McMillan, PA / 2025

When looking at athleticism amongst catchers, few own the ceiling of Peterson, a near sub-7.00 runner, 82MPH C arm, 93MPH OF arm, and mid-90's EV. Some raw parts to be smoothed out, but rotational power can be a weapon to all fields; a name-to-know before the summer.

North Carolina commit

Matthew Robaugh SS / 2B / Trinity, PA / 2025

We were enamored with the pace of play defensively and feel for internal clock at #NEProcase, operating under 4.00 sec at times. Next-level strong type of arm at 89MPH on the dirt with EV's up into the 100MPH range. Young in terms of baseball development, extra in the tank.

West Virginia commit

Andrew Pellicciotta SS / 2B / Malvern Prep, PA / 2025

Pellicciotta was a major riser who implanted himself as the starting shortstop on one of the state's deepest teams. He's a physical freak that looks the part of an eventual D1-caliber bat. 1st in AVG (.411) and triples (4), 2nd in RBI (19); all-conference football player, too.

Uncommitted

Nico Varlotta SS / RHP / North Allegheny, PA / 2025

Varlotta keeps checking off the boxes, throwing a no-hitter a few weeks ago, and then T92MPH recently. The SL showed occasional + in front of long-time scout Bill Bliss with ability to bury to GS. Both arm-action and delivery scream velo gains on the horizon at 6-foot-4, 185-pounds.
