With the 2018 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting mid-January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2018 Spring Team Preview: Bellefontaine Chieftains
Team Name: Bellefontaine Chieftains
Head Coach: Art Caudill
Division: II
2017 Record: 14-12
Conference Record: Central Buckeye Conference, 5-8. 4th
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 4/1
Team Strengths:
- Defense
Coach Outlook: “We are inexperienced but hopefully can play the game the right way and minimize mistakes.”
PBR Outlook: After being one of the smallest schools in Division I over the last couple of seasons, coach Art Caudill and the Bellefontaine Chieftains are back in Division II. With just four starters returnings and just one pitcher back, look for the Chieftains to get better as the season goes on with hopes of playing their best ball come tournament time.
