With 2021 now in the past, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best 2022 high school coverage that can be found anywhere. 2022 Spring Team Preview: Defiance Bulldogs

Team Name: Defiance Bulldogs
Head Coach: Tom Held
Division: II
2021 Record: 23-7
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 8/6

2022 Team Strengths:

  • Pitching Depth
  • Team Speed
  • Defense

Coach Outlook: "Pitching depth will be our number 1 strength. We have all 23 wins back (Jerger, Shaw, Jimenez, Howard) and Wade Liffick, Aidan Kiessling, and Tyler Frederick could all earn some innings as well. We also think we have some team speed back as well. We have 78 SB’s returning. We were pretty good defensively last year (.962) and have 3-4 starting IF back and all of our outfield. The biggest question mark right now is filling our spot behind the plate with Camden Roth graduating. I feel we have two guys competing for that position (Mark Butler/Kam Brown) that are very capable of handling those duties. Being more consistent offensively is something we have to get better at this year if we want to compete for championships. After hitting over .300 for 18 straight years, we have not been there since 2016. Our new facility (6 cages) has not helped us offensively."
