With 2022 now in the past, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage that can be found anywhere in 2023. Starting in February, we began releasing team previews for squads across the state. Ahead, we will have Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings coming your way.

2023 Spring Team Preview: McComb Panthers

Team Name: McComb Panthers
Head Coach: Ross Shoup
Division: IV
2022 Record: 13-12
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 9/7

Coach Outlook: "We return all of our players from the 2022 season. We have battled injuries the last few seasons, but are optimistic we can get healthy this spring and play our best baseball down the stretch. Our senior and junior classes are in year #3 of playing together at the varsity level since the 2020 shutdown, so the experience of playing a tough schedule and finding ways to compete night in and night out is definitely in our dugout. We want to be contenders in our league that boasts some really solid pitching for a small school mostly DIV league, and ride that momentum into the tournament. Our leaders have been great this offseason in getting a consistent group in the weight room and creating time to build their arms and get in the cage. That’s really all you can ask for when you coach guys that play 2-3 sports during a calendar year."
