Milwaukee Preseason I.D.: Infielder Analysis
March 19, 2018
The infielder prospects at the Milwaukee Preseason I.D. event demonstrated a high level of athleticism throughout the event, highlighted by the day’s top three 60 times coming from this group. T.J. Manteufel (Union Grove, 2020) and Andrew Wiegman (Carmel Catholic, IL; 2019) ran two of those top times and both are represented on their class ranks below.
Wiegman came into the February event as one the top-ranked shortstop in Illinois’ 2019 class because of his big potential in the batter’s box and steady actions as a defender. He only reiterated his status as one of the most talented members of his high school class
Sussex-Hamilton’s Eric Erato (2020) is a third base prospect right now and came into the event ranked No. 3 at the position in the state’s class. He has the frame and smooth swing that creates a lot of optimism surrounding his power projection, especially since he makes sound contact regularly.
Check to see how the names above ranked on the lists below. There are also reports on each and every one of the infielders who participated at the event. Keep an eye out for further positional breakdowns from the Milwaukee event this week.
