Heartland Scout Day: At 6-foot-4, 220 pounds, you can’t teach his type of strength and raw power. With a no stride, rock back load his swing can get a bit stiff, but there’s no denying his power and the jump of the ball off the bat. His 104.6 mph max was easily the best on this scout day and his 92.3% Hard Hit rate was second. Defensively, he showed near average arm strength (83 mph) with a longer release and good accuracy. He also moves well, especially for his size and ran a 7.13 laser timed 60.

7/10/18 - Purdue University commit. 6-foot-4, 220-pound, right-handed hitting first baseman, large build with strength. Offensively hits from a tall open stance, slight toe tap stride, in rhythm pre pitch. Path is short, gets steep at times, aggressive swing shows ability to make hard back spinning contact, pull side power approach, 100 mph exit velocity from a tee, with wood. Defensively showed soft hands around the bag at first base, natural actions, short loose arm played 83 mph across the diamond, playable and accurate. Above average runner for size, 7.25 runner in the 60.

7/8/18 - 6-foot-4, 220-pound, extra-large, wide-shouldered, right-handed hitting first baseman. Middle of the order bat. Possesses advanced bat strength, hunts the fastball and does not get cheated. Bat stays flat through the hitting zone, has the ability to backspin the baseball and creates bat speed. Hit a towering, game-winning, two-run home run to left field on Thursday night. Follow 2019 power bat.

6/12/18 - 6-foot-3, 222-pound, right-handed hitting first baseman, strong, thick build. Offensively, balanced setup, short toe-tap stride, maintains good balance through contact. Power hitter with pull-side tendency, long, uphill barrel path, produces back spin, exit velocity topped 104 mph from a tee. 7.22 runner in the 60. Defensively, long arm action, high ¾ slot, fluid footwork, clean on exchanges, fields position athletically, throws topped 82 mph across the diamond.

3/11/18 - 6-foot-3, 222-pound first-baseman, large build, right-handed power hitting profile. Hits from a balanced setup, leg lift stride, lower half works, maintains balance. Path is short to the baseball and flat through the zone at times, loose hands, creates advanced bat speed, bat strength present. Hard pull side contact, power bat, 103 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively shows feel around the bag, easy actions. Arm action is long and flashes carry, 84 mph across the diamond. 7.32 runner in the 60.

2/25/18 - 6-foot-3, 222-pound right-handed hitting first baseman. Improved foot speed, 7.31 runner in the 60. Right-handed hitter, tall setup, balanced stance, smooth loading action, reverse toe tap. Path is short to the ball, flat through contact, pull side approach. Hard, pull power contact off the bat, easy pop. 95 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively shows well above average arm strength across the diamond, 80 mph. Actions are clean around the bag, soft hands.

2017 PBR Future Games - 6-foot-3, 222-pound right-handed hitting first baseman. Power hitting first baseman. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a long toe tap stride. Long, level swing path looks to pull. Strength thru contact with 96 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.75. Defensively has a long arm action from a a ¾ arm angle. Threw 82 mph across the infield. 

7/7/17 - 6-foot-3, 225-pound right-handed first baseman, extra-large build. Right-handed hitter with pop, loose strong hands, handles wood bat. Shows bat strength, occasionally got out front, showed easy strength ball jumps off bat at times.

6/21/17 - 6-foot-3, 222-pound right-handed hitting first baseman with a strong frame. At the plate hits from a tall, slightly open setup with  toe tap stride and good balance. Power hitter with fluid rhythm and a long swing path. Launched multiple pull side home runs in batting practice. Showed strength thru contact with 99 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.63. Defensively has a short, loose arm action from a high ¾ slot. Throws showed carry across the infield throwing 84 mph. Good body control for size with soft hands.

7/26/16 - Large framed corner infield prospect, 6-foot-2, 202-pounds, solid thick build. Right-handed hitter, short stride, athletic setup. Showed bat strength, fast bat, slight uphill plane, hard lifted contact, pull side power approach. 91 mph exit velocity from the tee. Hit a double in game play. 4.88 runner down the line. Defensively showed hands and mobility to stick at third base. Arm carries across at 81 mph, showed body control on the slow roller. On the mound fastball touched 80 mph, sat 77-79 mph with slight arm side run. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape, gradual short action, 70-72. Flashed changeup at 74 mph.

6/22/16 - 6-foot-2, 202-pound right-handed hitting RHP/3B with a strong frame. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long, loose arm action. Tall at balance point loading up on backside before coming to the plate. Works in line with home plate with some rhythm. Fastball sat 79 mph. Curveball has slurve action at 69-71 mph with tight rotation. Fastball arm speed on changeup at 71-72 mph. Projects well on the mound. At the plate hits from a tall setup with a toe tap stride and average balance. Power hitter with a long, slightly uphill path. Showed strength thru contact with 91 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 8.00. Defensively has a long arm action from a high ¾ slot. Accurate throws with carry throwing 78 mph across the infield. Plays thru the ball with slower actions and soft hands.

4/5/14 - 5-foot-8, 148-pound two-way player. Offensively hits from a balanced stance, toe tap stride. Long path, flat through the zone. 74 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively uses a short arm action, over the top slot, 59 mph arm across the diamond. 4.83 runner down the line. On the mound fastball flashed run, 61-64 mph. Slow curveball at 44-47 mph. Changeup had occasional sink 58-59 mph.
