With 2022 now in the past, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage that can be found anywhere in 2023. Starting in February, we began releasing team previews for squads across the state. Ahead, we will have Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings coming your way.

2023 Spring Team Preview: Monroe Hornets

Team Name: Monroe Hornets
Head Coach: Ed Beck
Division: I
2022 Record: 11-16
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 4/4

Coach Outlook: "Our 3 returning Seniors (Alex Bemis, Brady Heagen and Aiden Sargent) will lead us on the mound as well as at the plate. They are 3 year Varsity starters for us and put up big numbers last year. We need to clean up some defensive mistakes that took us out of close games last year, if we do that we can be a pretty good team. We moved up to D1 this season, so we will have our hands full once we get to the state tournament."

  • Brady Heagen, OF/LHP, 2023, 6-2, 225 pounds, L/L, 2 year starter, uncommitted. LY stats, .295 avg., 6 2B, 3 3B, 13 RBI’s, 14 runs. 2-1, 5.667 ERA, 14K.
