Prep Baseball Report Oklahoma hosted the first annual OK Jr. Future Games Trials this past Sunday at Deer Creek HS and Edge Sports Fitness indoor facility in Edmond, OK. This invite only event featured nearly 40 of the top players from the 2023 and 2022 classes in Oklahoma. Each player participated in a pro style showcase to show their skills and record measurables in front the PBR staff. 

Today, we take a look at the talented 2022 & 2024 grads who upgraded to full profiles with video and full scouting reports. Each players full profile can be seen by clicking on their picture.

Spencer Boles OF / C / Choctaw, OK / 2022

A 5-foot-9, 150-pound lean and athletic frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a back leg heavy open and athletic set-up with rhythm in his hands. Uses a moderate leg kick and an arm-bar load before launching his hands on an uphill path through extension with some bat speed. In BP, shows a pull approach with lift and advanced pull pop, mostly barrels, 86 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.38 60. Defensively, blocks the ball well behind the dish, an average receiver, shows athletic actions on his throw downs, 2.20-2.38 pop times, 72 mph velo. Also athletic enough to play an advanced infield and outfield. On the mound, the right-hander pitches from a slightly uptempo delivery with a high leg kick. Arm action is short in the back, coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball sits 73-77 mph with arm side run, mostly strikes. Slows his arm on the changeup, 58-60 mph. Knuckleball has some dance 61-63 mph. 

Bauer Brittain RHP / OF / Shawnee, OK / 2022

An advanced 5-foot-11, 150-pound frame with some strength and length. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a balanced, even, and athletic set-up with his barrel tilted towards the pitcher. Uses quick reverse toe-tap load before launching his hands on a slightly uphill path through extension, some length. In BP, shows a middle of the field approach with some lift, found a few barrels, 75 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.29 60. Defensively, shows athletic actions in the outfield, charging the ball well and showing sure hands. Throws from a ¾ slot with elite arm speed for his age, 84 mph with accuracy. Also athletic enough to play the infield as well. On the mound, the right-hander works from a controlled delivery with a high leg kick and a slight pause before driving down the mound and pitching through his front side. Arm action is long and fluid in the back, coming through a high-¾ slot with arm speed. Fastball sits 82-86 mph with heavy arm-side run. Changeup has slight fade at 69-70 mph. Slider is still developing 65-66 mph. 

Christian Dong 3B / RHP / Choctaw, OK / 2022

A proportional and still developing 5-foot-9, 155-pound frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a back-leg heavy crouch with rhythm throughout. Uses a short stride, late heel plant, and arm-bar load before launching his hands on a flat path to contact with a high finish. In BP, shows a flat and pull approach with some bat speed, some barrels, 78 mph exit velo. Runs an 8.19 60. Defensively, shows aggressive actions in the infield, feet get stagnant at times. Throws from a high-¾ slot with short arm circle, 71 mph across the diamond with accuracy. Athletic enough to play the outfield as well. On the mound, the right-hander uses an average tempo delivery with a high and smooth leg kick before driving to the dish. Arm action has moderate length in the back before coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball sits 71-73 mph, some strikes. Slider is still developing 64-65 mph. Changup keeps its plane at 67-68 mph.

Logan Lunceford SS / RHP / Shawnee, OK / 2022

A lean and developing 5-foot-7, 125-pound frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a balanced and slightly open set-up with rhythm in his hands. Uses a smooth load and hanging leg kick before launching his hands on a short path to contact with a very high finish. In BP, shows a middle to opposite field, flat approach, some barrels, 71 mph exit velo. Runs an 8.20 60. Defensively, shows athleticism and rhythm with well advanced hands and feet. Throws with a short arm action, coming through a ¾ slot, 71 mph across the diamond with accuracy. On the mound, the right-hander uses an average tempo delivery with rhythm and excellent leg drive down the mound.  Arm action is long and loose in the back coming through a high-¾ slot with quickness. Fastball keeps its plane at 73-74 mph. Curveball shows big 12/6 depth with tight spin for strikes, 61-62 mph. Changeup is still developing at 59-62 mph.

Brody Houser RHP / 3B / Bishop McGuinness, OK / 2022

A long and athletic, 6-foot, 155-pound frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a wide and upright stance with rhythm throughout. Uses a small leg kick load before launching his hands on a flat path to contact with a high finish. In BP, shows a middle to pull flat approach, good late in the round, showing some pop and length, 79 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.40 60. Defensively, shows some athletic actions, gets out of his legs at times. Throws with a short arm action coming through a high-¾ slot with developing accuracy at 64 mph across the diamond.

Carson Pettifer 2B / RHP / Sulphur, OK / 2022

A lean and developing 5-foot-6, 124-pound frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a closed and slightly back leg heavy set-up with some rhythm in his hands and bend in his waist. Uses a short load and moderate stride before pulling his hands through a slightly uphill path through extension with some length. In BP, shows an opposite field approach with some lift, some barrels, 69 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.46 60. Defensively, shows aggressive actions and active feet, fields the ball deep at times. Throws with a short arm action coming through a high-¾ slot, 66 mph with some accuracy. On the mound, the right-hander pitches from an average tempo delivery with a moderate leg kick. Arm action is moderate in the back coming through an over the top slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 68-70 mph, some strikes. Slider has consistent 11/5 shape with some depth, 62-63 mph.

Reese Ratchford C / RHP / Sulphur , OK / 2022

An advanced 6-foot, 175-pound frame with strength throughout. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a wide and athletic stance with a slight crouch. Uses a smooth load with a reverse toe-tap before launching his hands with elite bat speed for his age. In BP, shows an all fields approach with big pull pop, leaving the yard to the pull side gap, all barrels, 86 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.06 60. Defensively, receives well with quiet actions and soft hands. Transfers are quick and clean and footwork is fast. Throws from a ¾ slot, 74 mph from behind the dish with accuracy and 1.94-2.20 pop times. Also, athletic enough to play infield well. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with a high leg kick. Arm action is moderate and clean in the back, coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball keeps it plane at 80-82 mph. Slider shows hard and late break with 10/4 shape and tight spin at 68-70 mph. Changeup sits 71-73 mph with consistent arm-side run. Lots of strikes. 

Ethan Rone SS / RHP / Choctaw, OK / 2022

A physically advanced 5-foot-10, 166-pound frame with strength for his age. Offensively the right-handed hitter bats from an open and upright stance with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a moderate leg kick and a slight barrel tip, with an uphill path through extension, 77 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.27 60. Defensively,  shows aggressive actions with some stiffness. Throws from a ¾ slot with a short arm stroke with some accuracy at 74 mph. On the mound, the right-hander pitches from an abbreviated wind-up with average tempo and a moderate leg kick. Arm action is full and fluid in the back, coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 79-81 mph, some strikes. Slider sits 61-66 mph with some depth. Changeup shows sink at 69-72 mph. Knuckleball has some dance at 60-63.

Brandon Welch LHP / OF / Porter, OK / 2022

A physically advanced frame with strength for his age at 5-foot-11, 160-pounds. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from an upright and back leg heavy set-up with some rhythm throughout. Uses almost no stride and flat path through extension. In BP, shows a pull approach with pop and strength, some barrel control, 77 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.45 60. Defensively, charges the ball very well in the outfield, shows good hands, and an athletic crow hop. Throws with a full and clean arm action coming through a ¾ slot, 77 mph with accuracy. On the mound, works from an average tempo delivery with a full and fluid arm action coming through a ¾ slot. Fastball sits 75-78 with slight arm side run. Changeup has late fade at 65-66 mph, mostly strikes. Curveball is still developing at 62-63 mph. 

Dalton Williams C / Canute, OK / 2022

A lean and advanced 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame with wiry strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an even and balanced set-up with a slight crouch. Uses a slight leg lift and a moderate stride before launching his hands on a flat path to contact with a high finish. In BP, shows a flat and pull approach with bat speed and some pop, 84 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.81 60. Defensively, shows advanced receiving and blocking. Shows excellent arm strength from a ¾ slot on throws to second, 75 mph, with showcase pop times ranging from 1.98-2.24 with accuracy. On the mound, the right-hander works from a controlled delivery. Arm action is long and loose in the back coming through with quickness and arm speed. Fastball sits 75-79 mph, some strikes. Split-finger has some depth at 63-66 mph. Knuckleball has some dance at 67-68 mph. 

Kash Mayfield OF / LHP / Yukon, OK / 2024

A developing 5-foot-4, 108-pound frame. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from an athletic, balanced and quiet set-up. Uses a short load and small stride before sending his hands on a flat path to contact and a high finish. In BP, shows an all fields and flat approach, barreling almost every ball, 69 mph exit velo. Runs an 8.16 60. Defensively, shows all around advanced actions in the outfield with accurate throws at 70 mph. On the mound, the left-hander pitches with a controlled tempo delivery that he repeats very well. Fastball sits 65-69 mph with arm-side run and almost all strikes. Changeup shows some fade at 62-63 mph. Curveball shows soft and rolling 1/7 shape at 62-64 mph with depth.

Noah Smallwood SS / 2B / Claremore, OK / 2022

A developing 5-foot-8, 133-pound frame with athleticism. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a quiet, upright and slightly wide front foot heavy set-up. Uses a smooth rocking load with a big leg kick before launching his hands on a flat path through extension with bat speed and barrel control. In BP, shows a middle to pull gap approach, barreling almost every ball, 78 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.28 60. Defensively, well advanced for his age with clean and athletic footwork, great rhythm, and soft hands. Shows a big arm across the diamond for his age with a short arm stroke through multiple slots, 80 mph. 

Caleb Kalcich RHP / 1B / Heritage Hall , OK / 2022

A physically advanced 6-foot, 215-pound frame with strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a wide and upright stance with rhythm in his hands. Uses a quick knee-knock load before launching his hands on a slightly uphill path through extension with some length. In BP, shows a mostly flat, opposite field approach with occasional lift, mostly barrels, exit velo of 82 mph. Runs a 8.77 60. Defensively, shows deliberate and mostly clean actions around the bag, throws with accuracy to second base, 65 mph. On the mound, the right-hander works from an up-tempo delivery with rhythm and a moderate leg kick before gliding down the mound. Arm action is short in the back with a quick change of direction before coming through an over the top slot with some arm speed. Fastball ranged 71-75 mph, mostly strikes. Curveball has rolling action with 11/5 shape 55-58 mph. Changeup is still developing at 51-55 mph with some fade.
