The third annual Preseason All-State Showcase was held at The Grind sports facility in Oklahoma City, OK on Sunday, February 3rd. This one day event featured a completely sold out event of 100 prospects in the 2019-2022 classes from around the state showcasing their skills in front of PBR staff. 

This talented event saw impressive numbers in every category, including 16 sub seven second 60s, eight 90+ exit velos, 10 arms that were 85+ across the infield (top 92), nine arms that were 85+ from the outfield (top 91), four sub two second pop times, and 10 pitchers that were 85+ (top 93)

Shortstops

Jakob Brandenberger RHP / SS / Putnam City West, OK / 2020 A 6-foot-, 205-pound strong frame throughout,  Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an upright and open stance with rhythm in hands. Uses a small leg lift and small stride to square. Stays upright in stance throughout with a loose  swing. In BP, shows a middle approach with flashes of bat speed and pop in barrel with a flat swing plane, 89 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.29 second 60. Defensively, shows good actions for size with above average hands and feet. Throws with multiple arm angles depending on play with longer arm action.. Shows solid  accuracy at 85 mph across the diamond.

Bobby Byers SS / 2B / Cascia Hall, OK / 2021 A 5-foot-8, 135-pound smaller athletic frame.  Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an open stance with rhythm in a high handset. Uses a small hand load and strides to square with a  wider base through swing.  In BP, shows a middle approach with a flat swing plane and average barrel contact, 74 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.06 second 60. Defensively, shows good actions with sure hands and good feet. Throws with a loose and quick arm stroke with short length coming through a ¾ arm slot. Quick and clean transfer. Shows average accuracy at 82 mph across the diamond.

Zade Cisneros SS / RHP / Clinton, OK / 2021 A 6-foot-2, 170-pound long athletic frame, . Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an open athletic stance. Uses a big stride creating a wide base with a shoulder load. In BP, shows a middle approach with a flat swing plane and average barrel contact. Flashes pop in swing with a 90 mph exit velo. Runs a 6.95 second 60. Defensively, shows average actions with good hands and athletic feet. Throws with a loose arm stroke with longer length coming through a ¾ slot. Shows good accuracy at 85 mph across the diamond.

Chazdyn Cox SS / 2B / Southmoore, OK / 2019 A 5-foot-10, 145-pound frame with room for growth. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a slightly open wider base.  Uses a small stride and body load to start. In BP, shows a middle to opposite field approach with a flat swing plane and short finish. Average barrel contact with 83 mph exit velo. Runs a 6.99 second 60. Defensively, shows slower deliberate actions  and sits back on ball to field with average hands and feet. Throws with a moderate arm stroke with average length coming through a ¾ slot. Shows above average accuracy at 75 mph across the diamond.

Trace Evans SS / 3B / Edmond Memorial, OK / 2020 A 5-foot-10, 170-pound strong athletic frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a slightly open upright stance and some rhythm in load. . Uses a knee to knee and hand load back.  Tends to have slight arm bar at times. In BP, shows an aggressive swing with middle to pull approach with a slightly uphill swing plane.  Flashes pop and strength in barrel with a 91 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.25 second 60. Defensively, shows good actions with sure hands with active feet. Throws with a loose and quick arm stroke with short length coming through a ¾ slot. Shows good accuracy at 86 mph across the diamond.

Josh Guillotte SS / OF / Moore, OK / 2021 A 5-foot11, 186-pound young compact frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a squared and balanced stance. Uses a body load back and small stride to start. In BP, shows a middle approach with a flat swing plane and average barrel contact and repeats swing well.  75 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.46 second 60. Defensively, shows average actions with stiff hands but makes routine play and active feet. Throws with an average arm stroke with longer length coming through a ¾ slot. Shows average accuracy at 78 mph across the diamond.

Jackson Jobe SS / RHP / Heritage Hall, OK / 2021 A 6-foot-2, 180-pound solid athletic frame with more room to add strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a balanced upright and open stance. Uses a toe tap load and strides with rhythm in hands to start. In BP, shows a gap to gap approach with a solid swing plane. Consistent barrel contact and flashed bat speed with strength in barrel, 88 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.07 second 60. Defensively, shows good actions  with above average hands and active feet. Throws with a loose and quick arm stroke with some length coming through a ¾ slot. Shows solid accuracy at 90 mph across the diamond.

Landry Kyle SS / RHP / Heritage Hall, OK / 2020 A 6-foot-3, 175-pound long frame with room to fill out.  Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a balanced upright and narrow stance. Uses a hand load back and stride to start swing. In BP, shows a middle approach with a flat swing plane. Loose swing and repeat well.  Flashed pop in barrel and more in swing than he shows, 86 mph exit velo. Runs a 6.93 second 60. Defensively, shows controlled actions  with above average hands and feet move well to field. Throws with a loose arm stroke at different angles, with average length coming through a ¾ slot. Shows good  accuracy at 85 mph across the diamond.

Bryce Logan SS / 2B / Deer Creek, OK / 2021 A 5-foot-7, 140-pound young developing frame with some quick twitch athleticism. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an open and balanced stance. Uses a leg lift and body load back to start. In BP, shows the ability to use the whole field.  Flat swing plane and body works up through swing.  Consistent barrel contact, 81 mph exit velo. Runs a 6.71 second 60. Defensively, shows smooth and athletic actions  with above average hands and  feet. Throws with a loose and quick arm stroke with short length coming through a ¾ slot. Shows average accuracy at 87 mph across the diamond.

Jonah Mahen SS / RHP / Crossing Christian, OK / 2021 A 5-foot-9, 160-pound young and developing frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an open balanced stance and high hand start. Uses a knee to knee and small hand load into a longer stride to start. In BP, shows the ability to use the whole field. A swing plane that works down to contact with an average barrel, mostly barrels, 86 mph exit velo. Runs a 6.76 second 60. Defensively, shows average actions  with sure hands and athletic feet. Throws with an average arm stroke with some push release with average length coming through a ¾ slot. Shows some accuracy at 87 mph across the diamond.

Dylon Mallett SS / RHP / Moore, OK / 2020 A 5-foot-10, 165-pound developing frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a slightly open stance with preloaded hands. Uses a small stride creating length in base and small hand load. In BP, shows an all fields approach and flat swing plane.  Lower half gets through swing well and tends to lose balance, mostly barrels, 81 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.20 second 60. Defensively, shows athletic actions  with average hands and active feet to field. Throws with loose arm stroke with some length coming through a ¾ slot. Shows good accuracy at 86 mph across the diamond.

Jayden Meaux SS / RHP / Crowder , OK / 2021 A 5-foot-8, 130-pound young and developing frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a slightly open stance with some weight started back. Uses a toe tap and hand load down.  Load starts and stops. In BP, shows a middle approach and a flat swing plane.  Short finish with inconsistent contact, 76 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.64 second 60. Defensively, shows average actions with sure hands and athletic feet. Makes routine plays.  Throws with a sling action arm stroke with some length coming through a low ¾ slot. Shows good accuracy at 74 mph across the diamond.

Mason Pierce SS / 2B / Putnam City North, OK / 2019 A 6-foot, 175-pound athletic frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a slightly open balanced stance. Uses a small hand load and leg lift to stride into wider base. In BP, shows a middle approach with a flat swing plane and short finish.  Average barrel contact and an 84 mph exit velo. Runs a 6.90 second 60. Defensively, shows average hands with quick and active feet. Throws with a shorter arm stroke with average to short  length coming through a higher ¾ slot. Shows average accuracy at 84 mph across the diamond.

Caden Powell SS / RHP / Clinton, OK / 2022 A 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame with present strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an open and athletic set up with high hand set. Uses a leg lift load and strides to square with a hand load down. In BP, shows a middle to pull approach and a flat to slightly uphill swing plane with bat speed and flashes strength in barrel and a 94 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.44 second 60. Defensively, shows good actions  with above average hands and active feet. Throws with a quick arm stroke with average length coming through a ¾ slot. Shows average accuracy at 83 mph across the diamond.

Cody Sanderson SS / 2B / Edmond Memorial , OK / 2021 A 6-foot, 165-pound lean and projectable frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a slightly closed balanced stance. Uses a reverse to tap into stride and slight shoulder load . In BP, shows a middle approach with a down to contact swing plane. Consistent ground ball and line drive contact, 79 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.56 second 60. Defensively, shows clean actions  with solid hands and deliberate feet. Throws with a loose and quick arm stroke with average length coming through a ¾ slot. Shows above average accuracy at 78 mph across the diamond.

Caden Storts RHP / SS / Piedmont, OK / 2020 A 5-foot-10, 140-pound developing frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a relaxed, upright, set-up rhythm in his low set-hands. Uses a small smooth load, knee-knock leg kick, and short stride before launching his hands on a flat path through extension. In BP, shows an all fields and flat approach, some barrels, 74 exit velo. Runs a 7.51 60. Defensively, shows confident and deliberate actions with deliberate hands and feet. Throws with a full arm stroke coming through a ¾ slot with looseness. Shows good accuracy at 82 mph across the diamond with some carry.

Tate Taylor SS / 2B / Kingfisher, OK / 2021 A 5-foot-10, 170-pound lean frame room to add size and strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a wide, open, athletic, and slightly back leg set-up with a slight crouch and rhythm throughout. Uses a smooth load and short stride before launching his hands on a flat path to contact with a high finish. In BP, shows a middle to pull side and flat approach, mostly barrels, 79 exit velo. Runs a 7.52 60. Defensively, shows advanced clean and confident actions  with excellent hands and feet. Throws with a full arm stroke coming through a high-¾ slot with arm speed. Shows excellent accuracy at 84 mph across the diamond.

Taigen White SS / RHP / Sulphur, OK / 2020 A 6-foot-1, 155-pound lean frame frame with lots of room to add size and strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an open, athletic, and quiet set-up. Uses a smooth rocking load with a slight arm bar and small leg kick before launching his hands on a flat path through extension. In BP, shows a middle to pull and flat approach, some barrels, 74 exit velo. Runs a 7.33 60. Defensively, shows clean, confident, and deliberate actions  with above average hands and steady feet. Throws with a quick, clean, and short arm stroke coming through multiple slots depending on the play. Shows excellent accuracy at 78 mph across the diamond.
