OK Rankings Update: Class of 2023

The PBR Oklahoma 2023 Class Rankings have been updated after a baseball packed preseason and the return of spring baseball. Through loaded events and talent rich high school games, there has been a big influx of players throughout our newly expanded . Check out the top prospects, risers, newcomers, and fully expanded rankings, below.
The Top- The current top three prospect in the class include one of the top switch hitters in the 2023 class from across the country, and elite defender, and an uber projectable right-handed arm.
Jaxon Willits SS / Fort Cobb-Broxton, OK / 2023Staying at the No. 1 sport in the OK rankings and moving to 82 in the National 2023 rankings is the physical switch hitting SS, Jaxon Willits. The Fort Cobb-Broxton product proved again why he is at the top of the rankings hitting over .500 in the class A Fall State Tournament. Willits also played an elite SS all tournament, making every average play with a few web gems as well. On the mound, Willits shows off his strong arm and athleticism, pounding the zone with a mid 80s fastball and mixing a curveball and changeup to keep hitters off balance. |
Jax Ryan SS / RHP / Verdigris , OK / 2023The now 6-foot, 155-pound Ryan has always been an elite defender, but has seen a jump in every other part of his game thanks to added size, strength, and athleticism. Ryan rises to the No. 2 spot in the state and jumps into the top 100 in the PBR National 2023 Rankings. |
Diego Ramos RHP / SS / Vian, OK / 2023The 6-foot-3, 160-pound right hander continues to rise in the state and overall rankings thanks to his fastball velo continuing to jump. Ramos had strong outings all summer including this years Future Games, featuring a mid-upper 80s fastball and an elite changeup. |
Top Newcomers- The preseason and first half of the spring saw a flood of new talent make a name for themselves. These three below led the way with some impressive performances, jumping into the top 30 of an already very talented class.
William Brady Hamilton C / SS / Deer Creek , OK / 2023Rankings StateRank: 20 / POS: 2
The 6-foot-1, 155-pound projectable athlete showed advanced actions behind the dish and in the infielder at the OK Preseason All-State showcase as well as getting up to 85 on the mound. Hamilton has had a strong spring as well playing an improtant role for the No. 1 ranked Deer Creek. |
Landon Fonzi OF / RHP / Putnam City North, OK / 2023Rankings StateRank: 23 / POS: 6
The quick twitch outfielder showed he has a real chance at staying in center field at the next level ripping off a 6.87 laser 60 at the OK Preseason All-State and an advanced arm with accuracy at 87 mph. The left-handed hitter has a clean swing that will continue to add juice with size. Fonzi hits in the four hole for the Pathers this spring. |
Alex Conover C / 2B / Tuttle, OK / 2023Rankings StateRank: 17 / POS: 3
One of the most physically impressive players in the class, Conover is young for his grade, but already stands at 6-foot-2, 190-pounds with strength throughout. Conover's athleticism allows him to throw the top pop times in his class as well as show silky actions in the middle infield. On the mound, the right-hander was up to 83 mph and filled up the zone. Offensively, the left-handed hitter produced a loud round of BP with exit velos of up to 94. |
The Risers-As with every season that goes by, many players take major leaps physically and developmentally. Below are some of the biggest risers since our latest rankings.
Cooper Moore RHP / C / Bixby, OK / 2023Rankings StateRank: 7 / POS: 2
Moore produced an eye-popping performance at the OK Winter Open with elite catch and throw skills behind the plate, loud round of BP, and most impressive was his pen session where he pounded the zone with a fastball at 85-86 and touching 87 paired with a sharp curveball at 73-74. Moore has continued to impress with a loud spring at the top of Bixby's lineup, behind the dish, and closing games up to 90 mph. |
Maxwell Knight LHP / OF / Bixby , OK / 2023Rankings StateRank: 11 / POS: 2
Knight has risen nearly 85 spots with the addition of impressive size and strength since we last saw him. The left-handed hitter shows an imprssive swing that takes advantage of his long levers and allows him to drive the ball gap-to-gap with consistency. On the mound, the left-hander shows a smooth delivery that he repeats well and a clean arm action producing fastballs at 83-85 mph. Knight's frame and easy effort should allow him to continue his impressive growth. |
Landon Flusche RHP / 3B / Broken Arrow, OK / 2023Rankings StateRank: 24 / POS: 7
The 6-foot-2, 155-pound right-hander shoots up our rankings with the addition of nearly 5 mph and high-end pitchability to his game. Flusche has been domininant in his frontline starting roll for Broken Arrow this spring and had continually kept high-powered offenses off balance. |
