Andy Urban

Prep Baseball Report is excited for the return of Player of the Year Awards, presented by Big League Chew, after the 2020 season was cut short and 2021 generated some incredible individual moments and performances throughout Oklahoma. As the spring high school season comes to a close, Prep Baseball Report is excited to announce one player who emerged ahead of the competition at all levels in the state. This player has been selected not only for their outstanding statistical numbers, but also for their overall effect on their high school program.

Jackson Jobe

One of the most eye popping performances the state of Oklahoma has ever seen, Jackson Jobe put up numbers that are unheard of on the mound and handled the bat well too for good measure. The right-hander kept getting stronger as the year went touching 99 mph multiple times in in last few starts while featuring the country's best amateur slider at 82-84 with over 3000 spin. The Ole Miss commit allowed just one earned run on the year, posted one of the top Ks/9 in the country at 21.4, and only walked five batters in nearly 52 innings of work. At the dish, the right-handed hitter carried a cool .469 average while still hitting seven HRs and only punching out five times. Jobe's efforts helped lead the Heritage Hall Chargers to the 4A State Championship. Jobe is also likely to hear his name called in the top 10 picks of the upcoming MLB draft.

Jackson Jobe’s all-around performance, as well as the impact he has had on Heritage Hall, has earned him the 2021 Prep Baseball Report Oklahoma Player of the Year honors.

Jackson Jobe has been selected by the staff of Prep Baseball Report of Oklahoma. The team of PBR area scouts who covered the high school baseball season throughout the spring selected Jackson Jobe amongst a strong group of candidates from across the state. The Prep Baseball Report staff has been diligently scouting and covering games at diamonds across the state this spring to bring parents, athletes and fans the most comprehensive coverage of amateur baseball across the United States. The dedication and coverage allow Prep Baseball Report a credible way to identify the top athletes each year who best represent the state of Oklahoma.
