Q&A: 1B/OF Keaton McDaniel

By Andy Urban
Director of Scouting, PBR Oklahoma

Keaton McDaniel (NOAH Home School, 2017) is a 6-foot, 195-pound left-handed hitting first baseman and outfielder with strong hands and a defined lower half. Offensively, he’s a physical hitter with a middle to pull approach and easy swing. He hits from a relaxed stance and has a slight arm bar in his load. He takes a level path through the hitting zone to contact with bat speed and a high finish. At first base, he moves well laterally with good hands. In the outfield, he attacks the ball and uses an accurate, fluid arm that can touch 80 mph from the mound.

Currently, McDaniel is playing fall ball with the Sandlot Sox. Here is a look into McDaniel’s recruiting experience.

McDaniel: NOAH stand for Northeastern Oklahoma Association of Homeschoolers.  It is designed to be an athletic resource for home school students.  NOAH represents many sports, baseball, football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, wrestling, shooting and cheer.  Our baseball program consist of all ages from little league through high school, we have approximately 125 players at all age levels.  We schedule a very tough schedule throughout the spring season in order to bring our best level of play to the final week of baseball at the HWSA World Series held in Auburndale, FL, each year.  Our schedule consists of some of the toughest programs respectfully in their class, Sand Springs 6A, Collinsville 5A, Pryor 4A, Bartlesville 6A, Memorial 5A and Holland Hall 3A to name a few.  We have tryouts each year for the high school program for anyone interested in playing high school baseball and is home schooled. Several years and many volunteer hours have gone into making NOAH baseball what it is today.  We are very proud of our rich history and all of the alumni players that have left their legacy with NOAH baseball.  I am very proud to say that we have had several players sign with various colleges from Division, D-II, NAIA and JUCO programs over the years.  Anyone is welcome to visit our web site at Noahjags.org.
