Diamond Notes (Week Six)

Adam GrintzRHP Adam Grintz (Downingtown West) moved to 7-0 on the season with a complete game four hitter on Wednesday. The Tulane recruit struck out 10 and did not issue a walk in the 10-1 win over Unionville.

The two-time Team Pennsylvania participant in the PBR Future Games (2016 & 2017) became the winningest pitcher in school history with the victory, notching his 23rd win of his high school career.

As a result of his impressive accomplishment Grintz is this week's Pennsylvania Player of the Week.

Diamond notes

+ RHP Jimmy Colvin (Cathedral Prep), a Gannon Recruit, went the distance in a 3-hit shutout over rival McDowell on Monday. The senior struck out 13 and walked just one in the 3-0 victory.

+ Catcher Mark Black (Serra Catholic), No. 8 in the PA Class of 2019, hit his WPIAL leading 9th home run this week. The St. John's recruit, who was a member of Team Pennsylvania at the 2017 PBR Future Games, now owns the single-season school record for home runs and has hit six bombs in his last seven games.

+ SS/RHP Andrew Muraco (Franklin Regional), who will participate for Team Pennsylvania at the 2019 PBR Future Games, showcased his two-way abilities this week. Muraco went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in a 9-1 win over Kiski early in the week. On Friday Muraco spun a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts in a 3-0 win over Woodland Hills.

+ RHP/SS Ryan Rafalski (Warren Area), ranked No. 133 in the PA Class of 2020, got it done with the bat in an 11-2 win over Bradford on Friday. Rafalski went 3-for-3 with a walk, two doubles, a home run and seven RBI to lead the Dragons offense. For the week Rafalski had nine RBI and also picked up the win on the mound over General McLane with 6.1 innings of six hit baseball.

+ C/RHP Keegan Soltis (Philipsburg-Osceola), No. 59 in the PA Class of 2020, went 3-for-4 with a home run and an RBI on Saturday to help the Mounties to the Linsly School (WV). On the season Soltis is hitting .472 with four home runs and 21 RBI.
