PBR Evaluation & Measurables Showcase Analysis: Class of 2020 Pitchers & Two-way Prospects

The PBR Evaluation & Measurables Showcase took place December 30th at Keystone State Baseball Academy. Today we continue our analysis of the players in attendance by taking a look at pitchers and two-way players from the Class of 2020.

CLASS OF 2020
TWO WAY PROSPECTS
Will Conroy, RHP/1B, Shenandoah Valley HS (PA)
6-foot-2, 165-pound primary pitcher sat 77-79 from a 3/4 arm slot with slight cut to his fastball. Starts delivery with a side rocker step into a high knee stack. Tends to lose direction to first base side. Curveball shows tight 10/4 rotation at 64-66 and changeup is thrown at near fastball arm speed at 70-72. Displayed capable action around the bag at first base with 72 mph arm strength across the diamond. Left-handed hitter starts from a square stance with a high-hands load and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Showcased a feel for the barrel with a line drive approach. Failure to fully engage lower half results limits his bat exit velocity of 75 mph. Ran a 7.49 60-yard dash.
Jaden Henline, RHP/SS, Red Land HS (PA)
6-foot-1, 160-pound primary pitcher with a long, athletic frame. Sat 80-84 from a from a high 3/4 arm slot with a repeatable delivery. Fastball shows late life with some armside run. Curveball showed late, short break with slide action at 70-72. Changeup is thrown at fastball arm speed with similar armside run as the fastball at 70-73. Right-handed hitter starts from a wide, slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a toe-tap stride. Stays inside baseball well and displayed the ability to create some backspin with a bat exit velocity of 83 mph. Ran a 7.08 60-yard dash and showcased accurate 72 mph arm strength across the diamond defensively.
Tyler Petery, 2B/RHP, Pope John Paul II HS (PA)
5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a short, quick lift-and-replace stride. Displayed a short, line drive swing with a feel for the barrel and a bat exit velocity of 73 mph. Ran a 7.49 60-yard dash and showcased developing defensive actions with accurate 66 mph arm strength across the diamond. The right-hander sat 67-71 on the mound from a high 3/4 arm slot. Showcased good balance, and a repeatable delivery while also showing a looping curveball at 54-55 and a changeup at 62-63.
Dominic Schlager, OF/RHP, Conestoga Valley HS (PA)
Physical 5-foot-9, 190-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a leg-hang stride to initiate his swing. Showcased an aggressive lower half and a high finish with an ability to create back spin. Showed present pull side power with a bat exit velocity of 87 mph. Moves well defensively while routinely playing through the baseball. Displayed accurate 81 mph arm strength from his outfield position and ran a 7.32 60-yard dash. The right-hander sat 73-76 on the mound from a high 3/4 arm slot. Slider is a pitch in development at 60-61 while changeup is thrown with slower arm speed at 58-62.
Matt Wallace, RHP/OF, Donegal HS (PA)
5-foot-9 , 160-pound primary pitcher sat 70-73 from a high 3/4 arm slot with a balanced, repeatable delivery. Curveball showed 11/5 shape with solid rotation at 62-64 and changeup was thrown at near fastball arm speed at 70-71. Right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a short heel raise stride to initiate his swing. Displayed an ability to create some backspin in a swing dominated by his upper half with a bat exit velocity of 84 mph. Ran a 7.15 60-yard dash and showcased 79 mph arm strength from his outfield position defensively.
