PBR Future Games Player Spotlight: SS Andrew Muraco

2019 marks the 8th year that Pennsylvania will be represented in the PBR Future Games. This one-of-a-kind event will feature the best uncommitted Class of 2021 & select 2022 prospects from our 40-plus state coverage area. The Future Games will take place July 31st - August 4th (Wednesday-Saturday) at the LakePoint Sporting Community in Cartersville, GA.
The Prep Baseball Report Future Games is the premier summer scouting event for Class of 2021/2022 prospects. Last year, more than 250 college coaches from all over the country were in attendance, making it arguably the most heavily recruited event of the summer.
We will be highlighting each player on the Team Pennsylvania roster in the week leading up to the event. Links to those players that have already been highlighted follows at the end of this article.

+ 2019 PBR Future Games Selection (Team Pennsylvania)
5-foot-10, 170-pound left-handed hitter continues to make improvements and get stronger. He starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a leg-hang stride. Shows balance and feel for the barrel with above average rhythm. Routinely creates backspin with present gap power. Registered an 89 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 6.94 60-yard dash. Plays through the baseball defensively with active feet and sets himself up well for the proper hop. Showcased the ability to make throws from multiple arm angles and above average 87 mph arm strength across the diamond. Sat 81-83 from a 3/4 arm slot off the mound with a repeatable, balanced delivery. Curveball at 70-73 showed tight 11/5 rotation and changeup at fastball arm speed had arm-side run at 72-76.
5-foot-10, 170-pounder showcased the all-around skill set that allowed him to excel as an every day starter as a freshman at Franklin Regional. The left-handed hitter flashed above average barrel whip in BP with an 84 mph bat exit velocity. A barreled out to the warning track in right field on day two gave an indication of things to come. Defensively Muraco moves around with a bounce in his step and displayed the ability to make plays on the move with an ability to make throws from multiple arm angles. His 81 mph arm strength should continue to develop as his athletic frame fills out. Muraco also worked three effective innings on the mound sitting 77-80 out of a 3/4 arm slot with command to both sides of the plate. The right-hander also displayed a feel for a curveball with 11/5 rotation at 65-67.
5-foot-9, 165-pound left-handed hitter continues to make improvements offensively. Starting from a square stance, Muraco had quieted his lower half now utilizing a heel-raise stride to initiate his swing. Displayed the ability to back spin the baseball while barreling everything in a solid round of batting practice. Registered a bat exit velocity of 85 mph and showed and ability to drive both gaps. Ran a 7.33 60-yard dash and showcased athletic actions defensively with 79 mph arm strength across the diamond. Showed solid range, an ability to play through the baseball, and the ability to make throws from multiple arm angles. The right-hander sat 78-79 from a high 3/4 arm slot with some arm side run to his fastball. Curveball shows 10/4 rotation at 67-68 and changeup is thrown with good sell at 72-74.
5-foot-9, 155-pound left-handed hitter took one of the top rounds of batting practice on the day. Starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a toe-tap stride from a high-hands load. Stays on back side well and uses and aggressive hip turn with a high finish to create back spin. Registered an 81 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.39 60-yard dash. Feet work well defensively and attacks good hops while gaining ground on throws of 80 mph across the diamond. The righty sat 75-77 out of a high 3/4 arm slot on the mound with some arm side run to his fastball. Also displayed solid feel for a curveball with biting 11/5 rotation and a changeup at fastball arm speed that sat 71-72.

5-foot-8, 145-pound two-way prospect has grown three inches and added 25 pounds to his frame in the past year which was evident in improved measurables across the board. The left-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a short leg-lift stride from a high hands load. Showcased a solid feel for the barrel with and ability to use all fields with a bat exit velocity of 77 mph. Also flashed developing ability to create backspin. Displayed active feet defensively with a soft glove hand and improved 75 mph arm strength across the diamond. The righty sat 71-73 on the mound from a 3/4 arm slot with an easy, fluid delivery. Also showed a 62 mph curveball with solid 11/5 rotation and a 69 mph changeup at fastball arm speed.

5-foot-6, 125-pound left-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance with a high hands load and initiates his swing with a toe-tap stride. Showcased a flat barrel path, an ability to stay behind the baseball and his hands work well through contact with a bat exit velocity of 73 mph. Ran a 7.76 60-yard dash and displayed the ability to make plays on the move defensively with accurate 68 mph arm strength across the diamond. The righty sat 67-69 on the mound from a 3/4 arm slot with fluid arm action. Also commanded a 59 mph curveball with solid 11/5 rotation and a 64 mph changeup at fastball arm speed.
5-foot-5, 120-pound left-handed hitter. Starts from a square stance with a high hands load and utilizes a heel-raise stride to initiate his swing. The 7th grader displayed excellent rhythm to his swing and a flat swing path that allows him to stay on plane for long periods of time. Muraco showcased a soft glove hand and the ability to play through the baseball with accurate 66 mph arm strength across the diamond. As Muraco continues to add to his frame and gains additional strength he will be a player to follow in this class.
